Miller is a good signing. Lack needs someone to take charge until he is ready to take on the majority of starts. the modified no trade is a good to have in practice instead of full nmc. at least Miller would have to provide 5 teams minimum at the trade deadline in season 2 or 3 of this deal.
Benning will be looking to take on some quality guys as cap relief for Kings, Hawks, Bruins, Flyers, etc.. |

Media is totally negative with guys like Chapman, Botchford, Price, etc... leading the charge. - kaptaan
I'm not sure on Chappy but I don't think Botch is. Seems more of a realist. Tony G is the sky is falling on our head kind of guy. Price is negative. |

are you (frank)ing kidding me. All the cap space and we sign a guy to create more controversy. Wtf is Henning doing? We better go after Grabo and Vbrada .

According to sources, #Isles were more than competitive with offers to targeted FAs: Offered 3 years to Dan Boyle, 4 years to Jarome Iginla.
No one wants to play there. |

Red Wings were turned down by Boyle, Niskanen, Strahlman (who's agent just answered with a "no" apparently), and Erhoff, whom we offered a 4-5 year contract for same I think as Pitts

I'm sure they don't mind the team, just probably fear for the safety of their families. |

I hope Miller does well for you guys! I always liked him but knew it was time for him to move on, but I am glad he went to a good organization! |

I bet we could get a nice haul from them for Higgins if they're that desperate

Count me amongst the group that thinks the team should try and improve and not tank.
If February rolls around and the team is going nowhere then by all means sell off assets for picks/youth but I think it is important to try and win. You dont' build a winning organization by losing in my opinion.
I like the signing of Miller. He is still a great goalie, a year younger than Luongo. 6M/year is a little high but 3 years is fine and that extra million isn't going to stop us from signing anyone given the short term of the deal. |

I don't like the signing because we could have quite easily had competitive goaltending if we had signed someone like Hiller to two years as a safety net for Lack. Unless Lack is on his way out or Miller is fine with being a backup in year 2 or 3 then this is a very shortsighted signing |

I can imagine the desperation there right now. That team is still a lottery team as of today. |

Has to be the city, not the franchise. I can't imagine many families wanting to live there. |
