I don't like the signing because we could have quite easily had competitive goaltending if we had signed someone like Hiller to two years as a safety net for Lack. Unless Lack is on his way out or Miller is fine with being a backup in year 2 or 3 then this is a very shortsighted signing

Well said.

Frankly, I am so @#$#@% pissed off, I'm ready to change allegiances. This organization provided a lot of hope and promise the way they have handled things prior to this. Some faith in the organization was restored and I was thinking that this new regime would not make the same mistakes as the old one.

Well, holy f*ckcockles, Batman, looka here, we're signing an over the hill goalie with a questionable (or at least self-professed 'moody' attitude) whose skills have eroded, and we're signing him for $6 million for 3 years (oh AND NTC!!! just to rub it in! oh oh oh...AND apparently there wasn't much negotiation on the Canucks part just keeps getting better!)

Im not only extremely pissed off but I'm actually disappointed that Linden was involved with this debacle. Lastly, all the progress this organization has made means nothing. Even before the puck has dropped, I have lost faith in this new regime

Edit: did I mention I'm really pissed off?

Ross Gurney

Ross Gurney, whose NHL clients include Norris Trophy winning defenceman Duncan Keith of the Blackhawks, Pittsburgh winger Tanner Glass and Colorado forward David Jones.

- LeftCoaster

That guy got some nice deals for Glass today and Jones in the past with the Avs so he seems like a good agent.

Come on, 3 year deal with a limited no trade for Miller is not horrible.
- JMD007

He can select 5 teams to be traded to, so with his age and salary I'm taking that as a full NTC.

ANA, LA, SJ, NYR, MTL.

Would basically force the Canucks to only deal with ANA or SJ.

As a Leafs fan, it gets easier with each successive bad signing. At least it's not Jeff Finger bad! Stay the course.

No, George Bush literally said this about 9 years ago... you know what, never mind, it's Obama.
- smellmyfinger

Obama said the same thing about Afghanistan... which would seem to be a more recent quote...

Canucks didn't have to use assets like players or picks to acquire him. If he doesn't work out, trade him for a pick like Garrison. He is still valuable to a playoff team at the trade deadline if he doesn't work out here.

I still may be somewhat new around here but I know enough that this isn't a road I want to travel down.

I'll move on if you do

I would've been happy with the Miller signing if Benning could have signed a top 6 winger; but he didnt.

This team isn't going anywhere without at least 1 more top 6 player, and now they'll have to give up futures to get one.

I'm going to reserve judgement till this team plays this fall, but right now I'm not happy.

When did Obama say "Mission Accomplished" about Afghanistan? Did he also hang up a banner on an air craft carrier behind his podium saying "mission accomplished" as well?

Canucks need to pinch a top six forward from Boston, Washington or Philly. They currently sit 15th in regards to cap space available.

And despite what other fans may say, this isn't a Lou 2.0. Trading Miller, (lets face it, it's bound to occur) will be much easier.

I don't think we'll be able to trade him with his cap hit. Especially if he's playing poorly, which would signal our needing to trade him. Sorry dude, this guy's here to stay.

Read up:http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ssion_Accomplished_speech

and understand this started simply as a joke about Ryan Miller being the greatest American hero.

I'm sure he tried, but you can't MAKE players sign here, they've gotta want to.
