Yep. When he gets out of the hoosegow...
But seriously, Giroux gives them a game changer that can literally will a team to the playoffs. - Jsaquella

If Mason plays like he did last year, it will go a long way to helping them make the playoffs. |

I don't know, I don't think scoring will ever be that simple for him. He's handzus IMO - Just5
I don't know, Handzus wasn't a dominant back to back 96 point scorer in juniors. Couturier just needs a boost in confidence and he will go right back to his scoring ways. I'm calling it. |

I see him as more of a Jordan Staal type. He'll put up modest numbers given the chance IMO. |

And if they can cut down on the penalties it will only make him look even better. |

He is currently better defensively than Jordan Staal |

They already took strides towards that by trading Hartnell and letting Downie walk. |

I wanna see what Rinaldo we get this year. And if it's the piss poor one I want to see him held accountable.
Kimmo worries me a bit from a minor penalty standpoint. Every time a guy skates by him now he immediately starts holding them. I dont know how they can address that given his age but I really want to see that play cut down on. |

I'd rather see what Brian Gibbons could do on the 4th line |

Agreed. They could still add a piece to the bottom 6 though. I dont think they'd add a headcase( ie Carcillo) but they could add Ott who would take more than his fair share of dumb penalties I'm sure. |

Hartnell was doing good last year. He didn't take too many bad penalties, and he was only a -1 in the penalty differential. |

Ott's PIM has declined each of the last few years...far more concerned with how long & money, because I worry about him breaking down. |

That's a concern, too...but he could be solid with Read and Couturier |

Given that he's still sitting unsigned I have a hard time seeing him getting more than a two year deal. I wasnt crazy about adding him at all before FA started but I guess I would be okay with the move now.
Berube really seems to want big improvements with the puck battles along the boards and overall possession and Ott can help out in both those areas with his hard nosed, relentless play and face/off ability.
Again, the number needs to be right tho. |

Rome wasn't built in a day. So far Hextall has garnered a 2015 3rd, a 2015 4th and traded a 5 year bad contract for a 3 year bad contract. We have to hope he over hauls player development as well. Not a rebuild, but the asset gathering should've started 2 years ago. |

I cringed a little bit at the Sanhiem pick initially. Another long term project 1st rounder when the system is bare. But I see what they're doing. If they stick to the plan hopefully they can get over this long standing notion that they cant develop D men. |
