I read Tim's blog. Tim is definitely overreacting and I don't think Giroux spending summers in Philly is any sort of panacea. He could just as easily get in trouble here as he could back in Ottawa.

Giroux is the captain of the team. He's got to talk to the media at some point, right? Might as well get out in front of it now, in the offseason, and not have to deal with it during the season.

He's very puritanical. He was one of the media that harped on Carter and Richards off ice lifestyle and helped turn that molehill into a mountain, and now Giroux's little escapade has given him more gist for the mill.

At the first buzz gate I had a nice bottle of wine from Piedmont and offered Tim a glass. He turned it down and said he would like to try it but he was working and doesn't mix wine with work.
