That's pretty generic? What bad contracts are you talking about? Give me something! Like take on Lupuls' contract and get Gardiner in return? Which contract is out there for us to take on, I want names.

Bruins need cap relief and it has been reported on twitter they are trying to move Boychuck. They need cheaper .As stupid as this sounds he only makes 3.3

Coraddo Burrows Lack Marchand Boychuck

Ryan Johansen will be a Canuck by Friday.
- Nucker101

Ok you win. And the fact that it's coming from a non-partial Ducks fan makes this seem even more possible.

Would that make a difference concerning how you feel about the current line-up?
- Delta-Bravo

It's getting better . We have a youthful second line a tougher Dman and a fourth liner. Anything is better than the crap we put out last year. We also have prospects now

Hey man, each to his own. I'm a glass half full guy but you just seem to be a glass full guy with a depth charge of vodka added to that glass.

Good to have your perspective though. I love your positivity.

- AlexF

just can't stand the whining and female doging when the season is over three months away. If you guys can be super negative I can be super optimistic.

@SportsnetTicker: #Canucks sign Radim Vrbata. He has 56 goals & 121 points in 171 GP vs the other 6 Pacific Division teams.

That is not a playoff calibre team, which I'm assuming is the aim with all this movement.

It's not my team . Ian MacIntyre is suppose to know something about hockey

I would have been sold if he had like 122 in 170.

Absolutely. They dont tank though. They rebuild, but it sounded like you supported "tanking" which in my opinion is purposely losing. Like what Pittsburgh denies they did with Mario Lemiuex. I can understand what teams do to rebuild and sell off players for picks but not trying to lose. I think all teams should compete in the best way they can regardless. Isnt that what professional sports is supposed to be?
- WhatTheNuck

In an ideal world yes but I think it's more about the business of profit than it is about winning. There are teams in the NBA, MLB, and NFL that have no intention of winning. Just make a profit and all is well.

I never said 'tank' because I know the negative connotation it brings but signing Miller and Vrbata is a head scratcher. It will take us out of the draft lottery pick (1 to 5) and put us in the 9 to 12 range.

Not purposely tanking but not purposely improving either.

Why drop big bucks on Miller and Vrbata if the aim is to tank?

Some people overrated most of the media and radio hosts in this city. I honestly believe they know little more than most of the regular posters here. Most of them don't watch many more non-Canuck games than we judging from what I've heard on the 1040 when I make the mistake of listening.

And all of us watch pretty much every Canuck game so unless they have some sort of pro scouting background, I fail to see what makes their opinions more valuable than ours.

I understand where you are coming from but the Sedins both shoot left. It would compliment them well with a right handed shot. Kassian would be better for that and he really showed some promising play-making abilities. These are how I see the lines.

Dank-Hank-Vrbata
Burr-Bonino-Kass
Higgins-Matthias-Vey
Dorsett/Sestito-Richardson-Hansen

It really seems a bit crowded now too. I think a few trades could be done to balance it out and I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen. Did Hansen's NTC kick in yet?

- WhatTheNuck

I'd prefer to see...

Burr-Hank-Vrbata
Dank-Bonino-Kass
Higgins-Matthias-Vey
Dorsett-Richardson-Hansen

Sestito

Let Burrows play his off wing and see what Dank does without Hank and if he can't produce, then drop him to the 3rd line. The guy was a total anchor on Hank.

How do you measure playoff caliber teams again? Maybe on paper they don't look amazing, but just WHAT IF those young guys like Kassian, Vey, Bonino come in a make a statement in the new system of North/South uptempo hockey. Anyone who doesn't fit in to the new system will be gone too. Just the beginning if you ask me. Benning isn't going to put up with people not fitting in. They won't change the structure again. Play this way or get traded.

Outside of Botchford, I don't think anyone does. Definitely not the radio hosts, I'd say a few of the posters here know more than them for sure.

They won't get split up but the only reason I would want to see them apart just the same is because I feel they need to find their game without each other to be more successful with each other.
