Read it again I was being sarcastic to those wanting Hansen Higgins in the top 6 I want Higgins gone
- VANTEL

Yes I know - we've discussed Higgins and Hansen in a tip six role, I hate that thought. That's what it was for.

Marchand, Eriksson, Boychuck, Chimera, Green, Sharp.

Would you rather have Miller as FA or Sharp plus prospect in a salary dump? (same money)

Well, you sure told me.

I don't mind 2 years, but the $ seems desperate to me. If neither of the current goalies are Benning disciples I'm good with that too, just move them now and sign a career backup so I don't have to listen to the freak out when lack plays better than Miller. I'd rather have Reimer as a backup at this point.

And just so you know, I'm not even considering any of the '13 picks, I'm talking about the guys they just acquired that are supposed to be NHL ready, plus maybe Jensen and Corrado.

Who cares about the money? Doesn't change a thing. I'd take Vrbata at 5 million for next 2 years over kesler... Not to mention we also got Bonino, Sbisa, Vey and McCann for that whore.

That's obviously some decent numbers from Vrbata so I decided to look at some numbers:

Radim Vrbata against CHI/STL/ANA/LA/BOS the last 2 regular seasons
34 Games
8 Goals
15 Assists
23 Points

Full Season Pace:
82 Games
19 Goals
36 Assists
55 Points

The Coyotes scored 341 goals during the last 2 seasons.

Ryan Kesler against those same teams during the last 2 regular seasons
26 Games
6 Goals
3 Assists
9 Points

Full Season Pace:
82 Games
19 Goals
9.5 Assists(came out at 9.46 so I didn't want to go either way)
28.5 Points

The Canucks scored 323 goals during the last 2 seasons.

What do you guys think?

With the more uptempo style Desjardins seems to be bringing I'll put money down several players will have a bounce0back year. Kassian is the most obvious candidate to step up and Jensen, if used correctly, may provide some decent secondary scoring.

Looking at this team right now, the main question I have is have we done enough to secure 9th place. I see us presently in that limbo area.

I was on here supporting the possibility of a Vrbata signing yesterday and the day before. I think he's an underrated player and is a decent pick-up for 2 years.

Like I said, next to the Miller signing, this one actually makes some sense.

Fair enough - truth be told unless the players have a bounce-back year and a lot of young guys step up, most on here will get their wish with a good pick next year.

This team will bet better because Torts is gone.

That should really go without saying. How much better is open for debate.

- A_SteamingLombardi

Sharp and Marchand are excellent players, they're not dumping them IMO, they'll ask for good young prospects in return. So that's not realistic to me.

Eriksson & Boychuck are a possibility, Green is also a possibility but Chimera is a great depth player for the Caps, again not realistic IMO.

I did hear Boychuck was available. he would be a definite upgrade. Benning and Boston's history might give us first crack

At 5v5:

Hanzal as his center and mostly Kennedy as LW, other common linemate as LW was Korpikoski.

PP was usually Hanzal and Ribeiro.

The Miller signing is a bit unsettling this one not so much. I won't pass judgment on the Miller signing until I see what happens after a month or so of hockey. If you don't look at the price tag of either both improve the team.

I could be wrong but I think he spent most of his time on the 2nd line:
