I was on here supporting the possibility of a Vrbata signing yesterday and the day before. I think he's an underrated player and is a decent pick-up for 2 years.
Like I said, next to the Miller signing, this one actually makes some sense. - AlexF
we want scoring, Vrbata provides scoring.
didn't need a 6 million, didn't show particularly well in the playoffs or down the stretch, Ryan Miller. Why not have another controversy, possible 6mil backup. |

At 5v5:
Hanzal as his center and mostly Kennedy as LW, other common linemate as LW was Korpikoski.
PP was usually Hanzal and Ribeiro. - Nucker101
I don't see how this is accurate. Hanzel was their 3rd line center. You telling me Vrbata racked up 50 pts on Phoenix's 3rd line? |

The fact that Jensen is an afterthought pisses me off. I can't wait to have Higgins playing on our second line and Hansen with the twins
I don't mean you Alex I mean other that are not penciling Jensen - VANTEL
Higgins is a legit 3rd liner. Jensen would have to earn a top 6 spot in camp if he's gonna displace a veteran. No point putting him on the 3rd line. with Benning and Desjardins being old school I kind of think their gonna want to go with the vets. but who knows maybe Willie will carry a couple of young guys to bounce in and out of the lineup. |

That site doesn't lie...Hanzal was their actual 2LC at 5v5, hence the Ribeiro buyout. |

Yeah that site shows that Phoenix's most common line (30%) was Vrbata-Hanzel-Ribeiro. Didn't relize they shifted Ribeiro to the wing that often. |

When I first heard they signed Vrbata on my way home from work, my immediate thought was WTF!? After a few hours to digest it though, I actually really like it. So long as one or two of Higgy / Hansen / Bur are dealt to make way for one of the youngsters or more moves are made for another top 6, I really like the deal.

Agreed - line combos other than Dany and Hank are useless at this point. Camp will separate the men from the boys. |

I think Ribeiro's buyout had more to do with his off ice issues and attitude than ability. |

He was benched during a few games for poor play. He's regressed quite a bit. |

I'd like to see them revisit the Sedin-Sedin-Burrows line personally. |

Outside of Botchford, I don't think anyone does. Definitely not the radio hosts, I'd say a few of the posters here know more than them for sure. - Nucker101
Botch is a shaved head way from turning into the Damian Cox of Western Canada. His schtick is starting to wear thin... |

I'd feel the same, as soon as you can show me someone else that can mesh as well with and produce as well with the twins. Last year was an anomaly. |
