The current roster is gonna make it tough for the kids to crack the team, there has to be a trade coming.

Shinkaruk barely played last year. I don't see the point in rushing anyone that could benefit from having a full year in the AHL, which will be a new challenge.

I keep looking at the benefits gained from Detroit's approach and feel we could benefit from a touch of the same with Horvat and Shink. At least one more year in the lower leagues for both would be my opinion. Neither are so elite that their present talent demands a roster spot anyway.

Matthias is probably better than Vey.

Two completely different players!

Vey is what, 22?

He destroyed his final, albeit overage, junior season then progressed through two seasons of AHL play in which he put up surprising points.

Matthias has proven his worth already ( third, fourth liner? whereas Vey is an NHL ready prospect/rookie.

Something of which we are in short supply.

This is a nice change as management has already hinted that he will have every opportunity to prove his value.

I think I can handle a neutral zone drop now & then as long as I dont have to watch him attempt that gliding quick-release @ the 5-hole in a shootout as if none of our opponents have seen tape of him doing it every single other effing time...

Like Nucker said a few days ago, Hunter almost made the team last year with a bum hip. If he trains hard this summer he's got a fighting chance. Anyone know how he recovery is progressing?

Im talking about right now for the 3rd line based on what I saw Matthias do last year. Whats Junior got to do with it? Who mentioned projections and potential? Who talked about trading Vey? Not me.

They'll get true parity once the draft lottery is evenly weighted for ALL teams. Every team will build to win every year & play to win every game if the Stanley Cup is the only guaranteed reward.

Great signing with Vrbata, I think Van stole the best guy left and one of the better value players in the overall market with the small term. The money was there with nothing of importance left so IMO it wasn't wasted dollars.

I would kinda like to see Vancouver trade Hansen. That way..... Vey..... ya i did that...... and Horvat can compete throughout the season... Jensen to me is an instant roster spot. So ya trade Hansen for a second round pick and lets gets some young new blood in there!
