I love Vbrada signing. If that guy can score 20+ per season while playing with scrubs as center, imagine him with Hank the master passer. Vbrada will be the steal of this UFA class. I hope Willie finally does what other coaches were afraid to do and split the sedins. I would like the lines to be as follows
Burrows Hank Vbrada/Jensen
Daniel Bonino Kassian/Jensen
Higgins Vey Mathias
Hansen Richardson Dorsett
Jensen
We rotate Jensen on the top 2 lines for injury relief instead of plugging Higgins and Hansen there. Hank won Art Ross without Daniel. just saying. |

NTC are f@ucking stupid. Only 4 players in the NBA league wide have a NTC. NHL is f@cked up with NTC and here in Van we are the kingpins of giving them out. Stupid≥ #abolishthentc - thundachunk
...and the LA Kings have none!!!
2 cups in three years = NTC!! |

It's stupid for us fans and I'm not happy with Benning handing them out but if I were a player I'd demand a NTC as well. Without one you're just like cattle getting shipped around with no control of your own future. |

I think vrbata is an excellent signing for the Canucks, definitely helps your top six and decent contract considering the going rate this summer. Good term too, if it didn't work out they're not handcuffed by his contract.

Vrbata with an NTC as per Renaud Lavoie
2 out 2 in? Why does it feel like we are on a treadmill? - bezz44
NTC for guys signed for 2 or 3 years is nothing.... giving 5+ years with a NTC is just stupid. Regression/injuries etc are bound to happen over that kind of time period. |

Kind of a weak argument. The more someone gets paid the more justified it is to treat them like a commodity is pretty much the argument the paparazzi give for stalking celebrities. Players in the MLS making 60k a year get traded too.
Anyway, just saying that I absolutely would be pushing for a NTC as a player. And UFAs in particular generally hold all the cards. |

You'd have to imagine they had some interest. It's less than wise to stir the pot just to get an idea if a player would waive or not should the opportunity arise without having of substance on the table. |

Playing both Matthias and Hansen on their off wings is yucky, and I have my doubts about Vey being an NHL centre (RW). Either way it doesn't really matter, that team is likely not good enough to make the playoffs. |

As a player if you love where you are and have roots in the community of course you don't want to be traded your right as a player you would probably want one. As for me personally I'm a ramblin man. |

What Benning has done with these moves has created an atmosphere where everyone has to come in and compete for jobs. Getting rid of Gillis's country club attitude will be the first thing gone when the locker room is open to the players. |

If they keep asking him every week, he'll waive before training camp. Then we can pick up Brad Richards and sign him to a 7 year contract with a concrete NTC.
God damn it!! |

no chance, there's too many other options out there from cap strapped teams where those two wouldn't be part of the conversation.
boychuk, dion, leddy/oduya, etc. Tanev's good, but Nelson had 14 goals as a rookie while being shuffled around the lineup and Strome made Martin and Mcdonald look like goal scorers in the last 1/4 of the season.
Nielson alone had 25 goals last season. - Isles_since_6
Yea Nielson is more of what we already have. Nothing there to make me want to give Tanev up |

What do you think his ETA is? - Gullzy
Pretty sure they said 2yrs left on his KHL contract so he should begin his 1st NHL season having just turned 22yrs old in 2016/17. |

I'm sure we could go on arguing but my point, also is that player (commodity) movement is the nature of the business and to be expected. They are well compensated for life's inconveniences. |

I'm hoping for a bounce back season. He was the best bargain in the NHL for a number of years, and I'm pretty sure he chose to take less money. He bought into what Gillis was selling, and his latest contract is his reward.
