But what I'm actually hear to say is Benning has this roster stuffed right now IMHO. I gotta think for cap purposes and allowing to get some of the younger guys in hear. There is a trade or two to come yet. - vancity787
I know we aren't used to it around here but other organizations call it depth, I believe. It's a long season, I think we will see a lot of the young guys going up and down between here and Utica much like Detroit did last year.

Pretty sure they said 2yrs left on his KHL contract so he should begin his 1st NHL season having just turned 22yrs old in 2016/17. - DrChristianTroy
This team should be exciting again in 4 years lol |

Yep. Competition at the NHL level for minutes is talked about a tonne around here, but never in regards to the AHL. With the added depth, the kids in the A will be battling for minutes too. |

19 players on one-way contracts. Add RFA's Kassian, Vey, Tanev and Weber (all given qualifying offers) and the Canucks are at the maximum roster (yes, that's 3 NHL goalies).
If there is actual competition for roster spots, then someone needs to be traded.
EDIT - also, at 46 pro contracts (including the above mentioned RFA's), not including Canatta, Archibald, Andersson |

I love Vbrada signing. If that guy can score 20+ per season while playing with scrubs as center, imagine him with Hank the master passer. Vbrada will be the steal of this UFA class. I hope Willie finally does what other coaches were afraid to do and split the sedins. I would like the lines to be as follows
Burrows Hank Vbrada/Jensen
Daniel Bonino Kassian/Jensen
Higgins Vey Mathias
Hansen Richardson Dorsett
Jensen
We rotate Jensen on the top 2 lines for injury relief instead of plugging Higgins and Hansen there. Hank won Art Ross without Daniel. just saying. - Linden_4_Capt
Funny statement. He won it without Daniel for *23* games.

It's stupid for us fans and I'm not happy with Benning handing them out but if I were a player I'd demand a NTC as well. Without one you're just like cattle getting shipped around with no control of your own future. - AlexF
Miller and Vrbata's NTCs are more open than Kesler's and Garrison's.

Still a logjam on D
Hamhuis/Bieksa/Edler/Stanton/Tanev/Sbisa/Weber/Corrado
Also guys who could earn a spot:
Fox (he did score 64 goals last season in the OHL), Jensen, Kenins (I think he would be a good replacement for Hansen), Jeffrey (was on WD championship team last year) |

I hope Burrows is traded by TDL. He and Kesler are the exact "culture" I want to be rid of. That diving, hair pulling, biting and ultra drama with the officials has no place in my heart as a Canuck fan. Once they are on different teams, everyone quickly notices what I'm talking about. |

I'm hoping for a bounce back season. He was the best bargain in the NHL for a number of years, and I'm pretty sure he chose to take less money. He bought into what Gillis was selling, and his latest contract is his reward. - Gullzy
Gillis seemed inclined to reward players for past deeds on less than value contracts with overpriced contracts for future deeds that the player almost certainly wouldn't be able to match. It's great for a friendship/loyalty standpoint but from a business standpoint with a salary cap it gets you stuck quickly. |

You might want to tell that to some of those on here pushing to get Brad Marchand. |

Ya its kind of hard to defend the guy when he pulls crap like that. Reflects poorly on the team and the city |

AND the city? Talk about dramatic...
If you're embarrassed by someone else's actions you need to thicken that skin a little. I don't condone hair pulling & scratching but I also don't give a (frank). At least Burrows will do anything to compete which is more than I can say about 99% of the pansies who have worn a Canucks sweater during my lifetime. |

His compete level is what's gotten him to this point. This is the same guy who started out in the ECHL, played his way into the peg, and earned a pro contract with the Canucks. He's been facing adversity his entire career, and has rose above it. This guy will bounce back next season simply cause it's in his nature. |

Gotta think that if things don't go well with Tanev; him, Higgins, and Markstrom could be dangled as a package to land one large piece... maybe a solid dman not named Phaneuf. |
