If the plan truly is to play Vrbata with the twins, as was reported yesterday, I have no problem with putting Kassian on a line with Shinkaruk. Not only to add offence, but also to keep the other team honest with the little guy.

we are already better than last year.

We have a second line center who knows how to pass the puck. We have a right handed winger for the twins on the pp. We have 2 good goalies. and last but not least 4 real prospects now at forward things are looking up.

Don't get me wrong, I like that on paper, but I'm really not sure that Hunter is able to make the jump to the NHL at this point.

Everyone keeps saying that and you are not wrong but I think he fits big Willie style. He is what we need in the line up. Truly we haven't brought anyone in through trade or free agency that has his hands. Under the right tutelage he will develop just fine in the NHL. If he were to get top line minutes with the Sedins I wouldn't be surprised if he was Calder candidate.(Not saying he would just that it wouldn't surprise me.)

How could that not be a decent team. Different coaching style more offensive minded we will put the puck in the net forsure. If we could ship say Burr and Tanev out together for Boychuk and Marchand and cap dump for boston that would be slick.

Tanev would fetch better than two cap dumps (one of which with serious "character issues").

Just looking at our draft record under Gillis, looks as though the 2009 draft is now a complete wash much like 2010. Holy fug we are now entering the Nonis territory for Mike Gillis.

Look at Boston when they won in 2011, they had one player as a result of a poor season that was due to drafting in a top five position.

Kessel was drafted 5th overall which turned into Seguin and they traded for Horton. Other than that they just drafted well in the 2nd round and made some great trades & UFA signings...it can be done.

Yes it can be done but when in canuck franchise history have you witnessed good drafting, solid team management, great trades, or even quality UFA signings? When have they ever put all this together in the last 45 years?

History doesn't lie. Maybe the worm has turned and we are in a completely new era for this franchise but one just has to look at history to get that feeling that we are just going to end up disappointed... again.

This team doesn't need a new owner or GM, it needs an exorcist.

I feel like Kass with Sedins will either be insanely good or just an endless stream of passing
