Bounceback! Just like Edler
- AustrianCanuck

I'm more confident in Edler than Daniel bouncing back(goal scoring-wise for Daniel). 28 goals in his last 120 games(19 goal pace). 25 goals is what's considered bounceback season for him now, which is kinda sad.

Just looking at our draft record under Gillis, looks as though the 2009 draft is now a complete wash much like 2010. Holy fug we are now entering the Nonis territory for Mike Gillis.

Work has been a little slow this past week, I don't have much to do when all the project team is off except me. Sorry...

- LeftCoaster

Does that also explain your Leaf fan-itis? You'd think the Canucks are the current Hawks/Kings the way you've been drooling all over Benning's moves.

PP & improved secondary scoring will help his/their #'s. I'm (perhaps delusionally) expecting a 30g season.

I'm not sold on Daniel being the right line are for Henrik lolol
- Gullzy

The Jensen/hank/burrows line was very solid for the short period of time they were together. Maybe even swap Burrows with Vrbata. I like the idea of Hank being with guys that can actually shoot the puck more the 40km/hr

Jensen/Hank/Burrows
Dank/Bonino/Vrbata
Horvat/Vey/Kassian
Hansen/Matthias/Dorsett

Yes it can be done but when in canuck franchise history have you witnessed good drafting, solid team management, great trades, or even quality UFA signings? When have they ever put all this together in the last 45 years?

History doesn't lie. Maybe the worm has turned and we are in a completely new era for this franchise but one just has to look at history to get that feeling that we are just going to end up disappointed... again.

This team doesn't need a new owner or GM, it needs an exorcist.

Oh hell, where's my bong.

- bloatedmosquito

history has seriously jaded many of you!!! Just because it's always been that way - it'll always remain that way......is a piss poor outlook.

I'm so glad the world has had people who kick that kind of thinking to the curb!!

If this is our team

Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Shink Bonino Kassian
Higgins Horvat/Vey Burr
Richardson Matthias Dorset
Hansen

Hammy Tanev
Stanton Bieksa
Edler Corrado

Miller
Lack

How could that not be a decent team. Different coaching style more offensive minded we will put the puck in the net forsure. If we could ship say Burr and Tanev out together for Boychuk and Marchand and cap dump for boston that would be slick.

- The_Kuze

Optimism is good but to answer you question of "how could that not be a decent team?"... I'll bite.

We don't know if Vrbata will play well with the Sedins yet. We don't know if Burrows will bounce back in that spot either. Its very optimistic to put Shink there but what could go wrong with having him in our second line? Struggles/injury most likely. We don't know if Bonio can carry a line of younger players. Looks to me that he was carried quite a bit by elite players on the Ducks. Is Kassian a bonified top 6 yet...no, but we are hoping he will be soon...still, a little early to stamp that 2nd line of yours as solid.... it's as unproven as it gets to be honest. Bottom 6, goalies and D can hold its own without a doubt. Our top six is still pretty half assed at this point. Looking much better in a couple of years if the prospects keep coming....

Definitly wasnt himself anymore after the flying elbow.

Then the Torts season ... Which makes it really hard to assess what this team is still capable of!?

Ugh. Stanton>Sbisa. Stanton is a rock solid bottom pairing dman IMO. Would be a shame to lose him.

I'm just being positive - you know as well as I do they're gonna be in tough to make the playoffs unless everything goes absolutely perfect for them.

That said - I would never ever try and lose out of the gate on purpose like some others around here.

Yeah, so I really hope Benning plans to acquire another 1st in next year's draft somehow during the season or next summer. 3 straight drafts with 2 firsts is a great way to rebuild.

Or send Corrado down til theres a injury? Or trade a core Dman?

Stanton, Corrado and Sbisa could make some interesting competition come camp time...

The 3 division leaders are pretty much locks in the West: LA, Anaheim, San Jose, Chicago, St. Louis, Colorado.
That leaves the 2 wild card spots. Minnesota is likely a lock for one of those. I could see Vancouver and Dallas battling for the final one. I hope I'm wrong and that they end up sucking and getting a good draft pick, but the roster right now isn't bad enough to tank and not good enough to make any sort of playoff run.

OMG, where Rey right now to answer for all his insulting of the people who were not believers in Patrick White? I think he stopped posting here when Gillis traded him for Ehrhoff.
