If the season goes south on them I fully expect and demand they trade Higgins, Hansen, Lack, Matthias, Richardson etc etc for picks. Even 2nd round picks, if you throw enough crap against the wall somethings gonna eventually stick.

Boston, in part, won a Stanley Cup with great 2nd & 3rd round picks!!! Krejci, Bergeron, Lucic, Marchand, etc...

Burrows might intrigue a contender at the TDL, especially if he has a better season as expected. I still think he's a solid player, but not at his price tag and he's getting older. Hopefully Montreal is interested.

The 3 division leaders are pretty much locks in the West: LA, Anaheim, San Jose, Chicago, St. Louis, Colorado.
That leaves the 2 wild card spots. Minnesota is likely a lock for one of those. I could see Vancouver and Dallas battling for the final one. I hope I'm wrong and that they end up sucking and getting a good draft pick, but the roster right now isn't bad enough to tank and not good enough to make any sort of playoff run.

As of now I really like the look of our D. I look for a major bounce back. North South hockey will make these guys work and roll all 3 lines.

They lost Stoner and Moulson and added Vanek. They just need steady goaltending and they should be right there. Vanek might disappear in the playoffs, but he's proven to be a damn good regular season player.

He got it from me. Apparently Benning offered Edler + Horvat for the 1st pick, but that was about a week before the draft so who knows if the offered was upped or changed on draft day. Not sure if they even went through Edler or his agent first before offering.
