I'm just trolling. I've never had a 2nd favourite NHL team(or NFL for that matter) in my life.

Singing Engelland and playing him 82 games helps them lose(which in reality is actually a long-term win). Amazing move. It's a shame they were outbid by the Sharks for the services of John Scott. Although that would have been much too obvious, subtlety is key.

Its trade or play Markstrom. I agree he needs to play on the farm but he cant be sent down without waivers. Someone will grab him for sure.

Signing Miller means one of the two goes. Lack will ask to be moved by mid next season anyways.

Markstrom could be a piece then... but he isnt NHL ready in the eyes of GM's yet... which brings up concerns about his future at this point. Lack has shown he can win games all on his own.... he's a safe gamble for a team looking to add a back up( at the very least) who has the potential to very soon be a solid #1.

I have heard that that is incorrect and a lot of people have said quite the opposite and he can be sent down to Utica just before the next season starts. Can you explain why he MUST clear waivers and the rule where it supports this please?

Can anyone confirm or deny this being true? Does it have to do with his contract? 1-way or 2-way?

EDIT I think he can be sent down 12 days before the season starts without having to clear waivers which is supported in this article.

How the system works

The waiver list

Starting twelve days before the start of the season and ending on the day of each team's final game, teams wishing to loan players on their active rosters to any other league must first place the player on waivers. Every day at noon Eastern Time, the league publishes the list of players on waivers. For a 24 hour period following publication of the list, players on waivers cannot be loaned or traded. All other teams in the league are eligible to claim any player on waivers. If no team places a claim, then the team can loan the player to another league.

There are, of course, limitations. The only league recognized by the NHL is the AHL. Any player passing through waivers can be loaned to any AHL team. No player can be loaned to any other league without his permission, except that players in the entry-level system (initial contracts) can be loaned to any ECHL team provided he's paid his AHL salary.

This says to me that he can be sent down to Utica outside the waiver period, but I could be wrong.

My earlier statement was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I've been a Canucks fan since 1734 (they had just invented ice) and am obviously a masochist for continuing to support the them through all the ups and downs over the years (thankfully for those occasional convalescent-home stays)

Canucks are love, Canucks are life. I hate every other piece of poop team in this league.

Not sure about that, but I do feel people are underestimating Anaheim with respect to the upcoming year. Again, would not be surprised if they did a lot of damage in the playoffs.
