Honestly fine with the contract and the player. It just seems like such a strange move |

sad but true, apparently phallic garden gnome collection does not count towards any official scholastic credits... truly a shame.... |

I like your positivity. We are strong in D, strong in net and our 3rd and 4th lines are shaping up nicely. Mix in some youth with the vets on the top lines we could be a competitive team. I want to see some more moves. Curious to where Benning is going. This move and the Miller move are very... unsettling. - thundachunk
As mentioned - with the twins and our defence we were never going to be a really really bad team. |

I was worried we would get younger this year, thanks Benning and Aquilini for telling him to make the playoff, good luck with that by the way. |

It really does, but I suppose if he can score 50 points on a very defensive minded team like Phoenix, then he should be able to put up some good numbers here *crossing fingers and other crossable appendages* |

Not complain about the player or the contract, but once again, what is the master plan? One minute it seems like a re-build then all of a sudden the canucks are re-tooling.
There is no way the canucks can compete with the big boys in the conference so why bother? Obviously the owners don't want to lose money. As someone posted earlier; same old, same old. - bloatedmosquito
They've said all along their plan was to move out some bodies but retool on the fly, and that's what they're doing. |

Of coarse not, just 9th place bad, out of the playoffs and McDavid lottery bad. |

That's the thing. What precisely are we trying to achieve? with the Miller signing (by the way, I'm really not quite sure if I've said this in the past, so please kindly bear with me, but I'm not a fan of the deal ) and now Vrbata. Are we supposed to be competitive? are we simply re-tooling? or are we semi-re-tooling? or are we in semi-re-tooling with a pinch of full rebuild?
Edit: achh, Bloated already expanded on this, my bad |

think it has been said lots, they dont want a loser environment. They want to compete as best they can, try to make the playoffs and have our young kids grow up in that same non oiler like environment. I am fine with that. - anavar
Me too, we've had four first round picks in the past two years that look to be very good picks. Get to year three and see where we're at. Who knows, they may surprise a few of you whiners. Kassian steps up, Bonino turns out to be a good player, Jensen gets to the next level, it's no where near as bad as some are making it out to be. |

It all depends if he earns it. If he comes in and he's obviously one of the better players, even at 19, then you give him a spot, despite his age.
Benning is creating some internal competition within for once, I'm really on board with that, it's creates a heathy team environment. Players who feel entitiled, which IMO the Canucks players have been, underperform. - Pacificgem
He took the ability for Lack to compete for #1 away tho... so he is doing the opposite as well... |

yup, we needed change. I like this, not shy to pull the trigger. They obvi have a plan on what we needed and were going after it. Get someone to actually play with the sedins. I see no harm in that. |

It's course - and no team tries to tank just because they don't know if they'll win the Cup. Absolutely crazy to even fathom that. |
