I feel the opposite. I think Hextall actually has a plan were as Holmgren didn't. So far Hextall has accumulated 2 picks, shed 5 years of a bad contract for 3 years of a bad contract, picked up depth on the blueline on a 1 year contract and added some AHL level talent. Seems like a plan to me, just not one you like. - jstross
I don't think it's fair to say that Holmgren didn't have a plan. |

he's given that up, no? even though he still goes by eklund. |

Civil court..
He claims he would have blossomed into a top 6 winger. - jak521
I hope he's not suing in Canada where they actually understand hockey. |

My knee jerk reaction was to tell you to get off my ass MOAT.
And yeah I understand, there's a bunch of unknowns. I think Hexy would like to have made more changes. But I'm not upset going into the season with what we have and playing some shells games for that top line winger for G. As long as his production starts more smoothly than last years! - FlyersGrace
Now now, let's keep it clean.
I think they'll start with Schenn up top if Vinny's still on the team. Hopefully we can move him. With the money being thrown around this season it feels kind of ridiculous that we'd have to eat salary. I'd just say no and wait it out. Someone will need him. If not now than 10-15 games into the season. |

Then you must be glad Hartnell is gone since he had one ES goal in his last 29 playoff games. - Feanor
i like hartnell, but i'm more than ok with him being gone. the last playoff goal i remember him scoring is the game 6 SCF tying goal late in regulation - and even that was a fluky deflection. see ya'. |

No, I refuse to do much more than skim his posts. It's like reading Tim P, but with less that I care about. |

I'm worried if we wait 10-15 games the teams that needed him will have dreams of Connor McDavid swimming around in their heads. |

So Akeson's surprisingly low $575K cap hit just happens to mean that if the Flyers add Hagg and Straka to their roster, they would be almost exactly the amount of Pronger's cap hit over the cap ceiling. Those two players are on there just because they have the highest cap hits and are waiver exempt. As soon as the season officially starts they can be demoted to the AHL and the Flyers can call up Laughton.

That's because most people who call themselves Flyers fans are really just Eagles fans who love to listen to WIP and hate everything about their teams. They want to trade the entire team for the "right" players, and then once they get traded, they bemoan the trades and then want to trade the new players, and the cycle repeats. - jmatchett383
Those people make me sick TBH. Ive been a longtime fan, i stick with team through the bad and good. They frustrate the sh!t outta me sometimes of course, but that comes with being a flyer fan. |

I agree. No need to eat salary on him at all. Particularly if he has a good season and we trade him at the trade deadline. |

Pretty sure Buffalo has him locked up. Why else would you give Meszaros $4M this season unless you plan on sucking but meeting the cap floor? |

So now Ek has Ottawa in on Vinny.
Could they get maybe Jared Cowen? Could it be a deal for Boby Ryan where it is Vinny and a pick and we eat some salaray? Not seeing what could come back from Ottawa. Maybe Lazar if we eat salrary? Just spitballing |

Flyers won't be able to score goals without Hartnell.
Rememeber in the lockout season when he had 8 goals all season and the Flyers offense sucked? Oh wait, they were 9th in the league in goals. - Feanor
Vincent Lecavalier and Scott Hartnell are only useful when they put up points. How good were we last October when they both got hurt in the same game against the Phoenix Coyotes? I think its funny that you criticize my posts but cannot backup your own criticism and bring something of value and Substance to back yourself up. You pretty much take others opinions and make them your own. |

Used to feel bad for Steve Moore... now the guys just needs to stop.. He is now seeking $68 million dollars stemming from the Bertuzzi incident
- jak521
Unfortunate incident, but uh, isn't that an assumed risk when you get paid millions of dollars to play a physical game? No excuse for what bertuzzi did, but 68 mil?

IMO nothing really needs to come back outside a low pick, especially if the Flyers eat little salary. |
