As silly as this is, I am interested to see how the Flyers handle this, from a PR/media perspective. Right or wrong, it got splashed on the back pages of the local rags and people are talking about it. Are they going to make Giroux available to the media to answer questions right away or do you think they are hoping it just dies?

I do doubt, however, that they want Giroux answering questions from reporters (especially local ones) about this incident during the season.

I personally couldn't care less, and I don't feel the organization or Giroux owes the media or anyone else an explanation. It happened.. it is what it is.. and it's between G and the front office. Going to the media and the world only makes it a bigger deal than it is. All they have to say is "we talked to him.. it's internal.. we're past it".

They should put him in the stocks... and spank him, in public. That will solve everything, and is not in any way, the most ridiculous thing I could think of in the last 60 seconds.

Originally an undrafted free agent signed in 2011, Akeson has shown that he has NHL caliber offensive skills. The problem is that he's considered suspect in several other key areas. As such, he will have to put up points regularly to remain in an NHL lineup for the long haul.

Yeah, definitely will help his case if he can put up some points... I hope he looks to Mathieu Perreault for inspiration... undersized, not the fastest, but that guy is pedal-to-the-metal all the time, and he's not only survived but has been productive (and now rich).

It would also help to have a competitive team as the Phantoms go to a new location and arena.

I'll ask again, what is the need for Stortini, when Rosehill can fill that role with the Phantoms.
