You're left wondering if Giroux is TRYING to get traded. He obviously knows what this franchise does when players party too much. They trade them to Stanley Cup contenders. - redcoat75
Painfully true yet funny at the same time.

It would also help to have a competitive team as the Phantoms go to a new location and arena. - johndewar
Should be a terrific area for them. The iron pigs do pretty well there. Just a short drive up the pike |

I'll ask again, what is the need for Stortini, when Rosehill can fill that role with the Phantoms. - PLindbergh31
Rosehill might not be waived or clear waivers. |

Mine does. She drags her Funshine Bear around everywhere she goes and hugs it. It's actually rather adorable. - bmeltzer
Same thing here, except she's 8 months old. So thinks it's a delciious toy. |

Looking forward to heading up for a game.
Also, I imagine the rivalry with Hershey and SWB will back or close to the levels when the Phantoms played in Philly. |

That's what I'm hoping for. I live near Hershey and would like to catch a game or two when they play the Phantoms |

You would think teams would be lined up to get a crack at Rosehill.
Watching the playoffs, it's not surprising that teams with solid 4th lines were the teams that advanced. Having a 4th line playing 5 or 6 minutes doesn't work. |

I hope the Comcast Jr. Flyers has a mini-goon on the team. You know the kid that takes lunch money. Must have a goon at every level. |

Giroux is just one of many guys on the Ottawa market who had too much to drink and did something dumb. It is a Canada day tradition. There were no charges, police won't even comment, won't even acknowledge there was an incident. Most important, there is no special treatment here. He got the same treatment as other celebrants who had too much. And, just as important, no cop or prosecutor tried to get face time or a minor event.
Can't help but think the hardest punishment would have been having to return home to his parents home the next day. Hope Dad read him the riot act. He is a great player and good guy. This is a teachable moment for him. Long term, this is a forgettable moment. |

Actually, Homer played with the Hansons at one point, so I'm sure he would have been open to signing them. |

Bill, sounds like she needs a sit down. Real soon, or it'll get out of control. If you need a counselor, I know a guy named Tim who seems to have a real grasp of these kinds of problems. - feelingkettle

Quick/ interesting question.
Say we do move Vinny..
What do we all think about taking a flier on Dany Heatley @ say 1 year, 2 million. Maybe a chance to prove himself, or is he that far gone? |

This offseason sucks. I was hoping for some housecleaning by the new GM, all we got was a bag of AHL'rs and an ass grabbing. Cant imagine it gets much worse. - edmac812
The biggest Flyers news on Free Agency day is the Captain spending a night in jail. Just another day in Flyerland.
Hextall's hands are tied. I'm sure he's trying to find a taker for VL, but all the morgues are full. |

It's all part of Hextall's plan -
"Hey, G...think you can take the focus off of me for a bit? There's a bunch of little poop I wanna do, and these (frank)in' local writers are a pain in my ass..."

As someone that played with Claude in Ottawa (beer league while he played for the Olympique), he's a great guy and I'm sure he just took a joke too far. Obnoxious is probably the correct way of describing it in sober reflection, but a few people that I've talked to that witnessed the incident said it was hilarious to see the repeated butt-pinching. On the ice Claude was an awesome guy that used his skill to make others look silly, I assume off the ice he's that same joker. Also, since he could've lost his QMJHL eligibility by playing on our beer league team (him and P. Byron), Claude probably doesn't think through the consequences of his actions... I bet he'll start though. |
