What's Vinny going to do sit and pout at the end of the bench and not pick up his stick? The disgruntled veteran angle is little over dramatic. Granted, he probably won't be thrilled with his role. However, cashing his pay check should help alleviate his frustration.

You know what, as long as he is healthy, and he doesn't have a chronic back issue, good chance he'll bounce back and have a good year. I think his attitude is that they'll have no choice but to play him in a good spot. And he'll do that with his play. I personally believe that what we saw in the beginning of the year is the real player. And really if he is here on the team, the Flyers would be foolish not to put him in the best place to succeed. That's what's best for all parties involved.

Probably the bigger problem is that he sucks. 4 more years of suck

I Don't like to brag....but when your good it's not braggin.....I make awesome brisket----flats only....I also have some baby back ribs and some pulled pork.

I wonder why we cant just trade Vinny for Matt Cullen? One year left at 3.5 mil. Vinny costs a bit more but is an upgrade and Cullen isnt likely to stick around the league much longer afterwords anyway.

My opinion if you can't get a team to take 100% of Vinny's salary you keep him, put him in the best possible situation to succeed (2c with Jake on his wing), hope he has a much better season with no injuries and trade him July 2 next year for a much better return. Last thing the Flyers need is dead space on the cap for the next 4 years. I for one am confident he can bounce back and have a much better season if he's given the right opportunity. His health is the biggest question mark.

Just spitballing here, but I want to bring back the Coburn to Edmonton rumors after analyzing Edmontons free agent signings.

Edmonton is now paying T Hall, Pouliot, and Perron 13.8 million/year on the left wing. They have a glaring hole at second line center.

If they miss on Legwand, whom their rumored to be in on. Would anyone be interested in a deal shaping up like this

To Edm- Coburn, Lecavalier
To Phi- Petry, Perron

There is upside and downside here of course, we would be weakened a bit on the blue line. However we are getting younger, cheaper, and more flexible. Petry is a RFA right now. I would think he is line to make anywhere from 3-4 mil. Perron is def a major upgrade to our forward core and a far better fit on the top line than any in house candidate. Edm gets a 2C and the rangy Dman to play in the West that they covet. Thoughts?
