If we're locked in on Steve Ott -- and boy, it sure smells like it -- and wouldn't even consider Mueller...that would be unfortunate. - AllInForFlyers
Where can I read up on these rumours of Steve Ott? |

That's kind of why I like trying him on RW with Giroux. - Jsaquella
It really would help, if Vinny is here, for Berube to be creative and Vinny to show a little more ability to simply be a hockey player, not just a scoring center
You have to,adapt,as you get older

if they have to keep him i think this makes the most sense. i think any loss in 1st line prod will be offset by jake picking up the second line......vl may be back to close to 100% s well so he may not be washed up jusst yet - hogweed
At the very least, he can still score goals. Reggie Leach wasn't a good two way player. Neither was Tim Kerr. But they had value because they could score. The key for me is finding a balance at 5 on 5, because that's the biggest area that kills them.
They get hemmed in and can't generate shots and chances as well at ES, and then need to rely too heavy on the PP to score. |

ES has been killing them for years, now. They gotta get better at it, and hopefully sooner rather than later |

You look back at the 2004 team, even back to the Lindros teams, those guys destroyed people at 5 on 5. |

Eric Lindros should be in the Hall of Fame for many reasons, and that is one of them. The ability to score at even strength is what sets players apart in that league, to me

I've never seen a player who did the things he did, the way he did them. Most fun I ever had as a fan was watching him play |

I'd roll the dice on a player with his skill set -- he's one of those guys who I think could play with Vinny, too, by the way - AllInForFlyers

No matter how you want to justify it, it's 100% a "Sharp trade" already. It's been done. Tye had zero chance of getting a spot with the current lineup. |

Nothing concrete just conjecture at this point, much as anything linking him to the Sabres or Blues. |

While Umburger is the better all around player, the interests in Ott confuses me now but didn't before the Hartnell trade. Reason being Umburger can do everything Steve Ott can. I think the Flyers should be focused on getting a top six forward...although I am a Steve Ott fan. |

The 2004 team featured All-Stars such as Roenick, Recchi, LeClair, Amonte, Primeau, Kapanen, Gagne and Zhamnov. Even within the late stages of their careers, they were pros. Even the 2008 team of Briere, Gagne, Knuble, Richards, Carter, Hartnell, Lupul, Umburger and Upshall could dominate. I know we love our current players but it's gonna take sometime to get anywhere near what these teams were and the direction these teams were headed in. This team heavily relies on Giroux, those teams didn't replie on one player. During the 90's we had two to four stars (Lindros, LeClair, Brind'Amour and Recchi) but the rest of the tweekers worked their asses off, while probably getting paid a lot less. |

At this point I'd take a run at him but I wouldn't be surprised if Boston managed to grab him and make him a star again. |
