I am still curious to whom Murray was talking about in the presser with regards to that deal. Since it did not sound like it was significant players involved by how he was down playing it.

I am hoping it is not for Stewart. But if it was given the right environment problematic players sometimes can flourish and or change how they play if they buy into a system.

Outside of that I cannot see us still acquiring Berglund even if Stl now does not fully have a role for him and he will suffer much like Hodgeson did in Vancouver behind Sedin/Kesler. Not sure what else glaring jumps out at me for trade that we could use bottom 6 guys or prospects to acquire.

My money is on Stewart (fits the bill for what he identified) or simply throwing something out there to deflect some heat or as a reference to all the deals he had floated to other teams.

Sens waiting on Legwand. Thought they would hear his decision by now. Buffalo and Edmonton are believed to be the other teams in on him.

I expect there to be some movement on the trade front either tonight or tomorrow. I don't have specifics which usually means it's in its final stage. Could be two deals.

I think (me guessing) one is with Buffalo.

I presume you cannot comment on cash/term - any inclination at all?

I doubt Murray was talking about a deal with Chicago. But, I don't doubt the prospect being pencilled out would be Lazar.

I don't want to believe it is a deal for Stewart. He is not a center. I don't think the timing on ROR works. My thought at the time was Berglund.

I hope the Buffalo deal is just a flip of Prince for a Buffalo prospect.

Would be sick if we could pry Myers for a prospect and Wiercioch and a pick or something instead of Stewart.

i'd love it, but can't see murray trading myers (especially after letting ehrhoff walk) unless the return was pretty significant.

That is true. I would be onboard for Stewart if it was just a attitude problem with him good leadership could fix that but the possession issue he has unless they could find a way to improve that I do not see him fitting into the roster as anything other then a 3rd line energy guy to replace Neil in a year or two.

If Cup is right with his presumption that it could be two deals that would be sweet depending on what they were.

i'd be fine picking up stewart, seeing if maybe he could turn it around....it's only a one year commitment. that being said, the MAX i'd want murray to give up for him would be like prince and a 3rd

Zack Smith, Erik Condra should be sent out asap for anything we can get. Bottom line is they don't produce. I have to problem keeping Greening cause he is money in the playoffs which is a completey different game. If I was Murray I would be doing somethin to get Ryan Johanson. Condra, Smith, Pague, Weircoch for Ryan Johanson/

Even if it was a 2nd (the one we got from Dallas since it will be late lol) I would be alright. Outside of possession issues I don't mind Stewart personally when he plays his game. Just wish he could put up better points for the potential he has/had.

i'm not starting a fight with anyone else........but i'll just say that condra and smith are a million times more useful than greening....who is the 2nd most useless forward on our team.

and that trade offer is ridiculous. 3 bottom six forwards and a borderline top 4 d-man for one of the absolute best young players in the NHL? COME ON MAN

GOnna take more than that for Ryan Johanson... but according to spasto, smith should be able to get you Sharp.

I know the fan base and reporters think the world of Lazar, but if we could do Lazar and something for Ryan Johansen I would be all for it if the other part was not super significant.

it would have to be....that kid IS columbus. he is to CBJ what karlsson is to ottawa, what subban is to montreal. the price to get him would be astronomical

I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but I think you guys overrate Lazar.

The Sharp rumour is great value for the Sens, even if it doesn't make sense at this point in time.

Yes Lazar and several other pieces for Johannson. But, it would not be enough. Columbus has great buzz and they would be crazy to kill it by getting into a fight with their young star. He should get as good as Taylor Hall got ($6m) on the expiration of his entry level deal.
