I didn't include a date. That post was mid-November, 2013. - prock
This is what kind of a burn out, clueless fool Prock is.
He post a comment from Spatso about COLUMBUS trading Nash and claims it was 8 months ago, not say, 20 months ago when he was still a part of their team.
And the Leafs won the Cup just, what 18 years ago in this time warp, Prock?

Sens waiting on Legwand. Thought they would hear his decision by now. Buffalo and Edmonton are believed to be the other teams in on him.
I expect there to be some movement on the trade front either tonight or tomorrow. I don't have specifics which usually means it's in its final stage. Could be two deals.
I think (me guessing) one is with Buffalo. - Cup 06
I've recently seen that Washington may actually be in big on Legwand. It does potentially make sense with Trotz being the coach there and the recent departure and therefore, need, for a second line center. His speed also fits the team structure well there. |

I think Lehner gets between that 1.9-2.4 range over 2-3yrs (reimer/bishop money)

Legwand was putrid for Detroit - 1/2 point a game, -9, and 0 points in 5 playoff games. |

Like I said... fits well in with the rest of the team in Washington from this past season. |

Looking on Twitter, EK has written that there will no San Jose trade announced tonight. Probably tomorrow. Ottawa likely trading partner..perhaps that will be the lead tomorrow on his blog.
RedBlacks had great opening effort! |

Maybe we're getting Marleau in a crazy player swap lol
otherwise I dk what from SJS we could be after they cut loose everything for the most part unless Burns somehow became available. Since prospect wise there is not anything really there for us IMO. |

i've said it before, and i know it won't happen, but i'll say it again cuz maybe if it gets repeated enough it will happen.
strip neil and phillips of their letters (who knows, it might encourage them to demand a trade )
captain - Karlsson
assistants - ryan, turris |

I think that's just EK throwing darts. acquiring marleau makes no sense at what he'd cost, ditto thornton. not sure who else they'd be trying to move.
burns would be awesome....not sure if we'd want him as a d-man or forward though. doubt the sharks would move him |

Cost is a huge factor. As you know I think Murray has done a fantastic job under really heavy owner imposed cost limitations. I believe the problem is corrected very soon. Whenever someone says it is not about the money it is always about the money.
For example, my old season ticket in section 207 of the CTC center is $5,990. The seat layout for the Dallas Stars arena is almost identical to the CTC center and the corresponding seat (section 210 on the arena seat map) is $3,520. Ottawa season ticket cost on identical seats is 70% higher than Dallas.
Dallas new local tv deal is reported at $20m, Senators at $33m. Ottawa local broadcast revenues are 65% higher than the Stars.
Numbers have not been adjusted for taxes or exchange rates. If you did the same calculations on Detroit the advantage to Ottawa revenues is similar.
Ottawa has had to operate on a strict internal budget causing some players to leave. Yet Ottawa has an outstanding cash flow. Everything right now is about the money and because of that Murray has to be given great marks for holding it together. The team will be okay, a miracle of transition.

My view on this:
If Ryan has any interest taking on a leadership role, I say to entice him to sign here long term and to get him to buy into what we are doing, you give him the C. He is the oldest of the young crop and showed (in the first half of the season before injury) he can take a game over and lead by example. In order for Ryan to invest in the Sens, the Sens have to invest in Ryan. This includes more than just money. We have an unique advantage with Ryan working out a long term contract with him. We are a team without a captain, making a change in direction, and he has had a years experience with the team and staff already. Other teams who will just throw money at him don't have these bargaining chips. I'm pretty sure I am the minority on this, but I think it would really push Ryan to resign here knowing this is his team and would create a lot of excitement for the team going into the next season. |

I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but I think you guys overrate Lazar.
The Sharp rumour is great value for the Sens, even if it doesn't make sense at this point in time. - Feeling Glucky?
Value, yes.
What we need? Not really.
Rather keep the guy who will be good in 3-4 years when our core is than get the guy who won't be. |

I see that risk, but I don't see a lot of overwhelming support to make Karlsson captain either. I think more people would pick Turris over Karlsson. I'd be totally fine with making Karlsson captain as well. I should clarify, ideally I would have:
C-Karlsson
A-Ryan
A-Methot
But that isn't happening for next year with Phillips and Neil here. I think Ryan is a competitive guy would would jump at the chance to lead this team. So:
C-Ryan
A-Phillips
A-Neil
Is that ideal? No. But I think you get one of your best players locked into what this team is doing and the Karlsson factor could be massaged over the next season or two and would be given an A when Phillips and Neil go off into the sunset. You may not have the massage time period with Ryan though. In 2-4 years you would see:
C-Ryan
A-Karlsson
A-Turris/Lazar (if the hype about the kid is correct) |

There's also no way he went back to look at all those comments, which means he has saved comments from other posters to throw back in their face - the surest sign there is of a pathetic forum troll. |

What's with Murray closing the Spezza bad PR book and opening up another can of worms by announcing he has a deal in the works - he goes from one PR nightmare by publicly announcing Spezza wants out after the season and now he's under pressure by this stupid maybe trade announcement
Why does Murray always have these fault deals and public trade announcements? It seems when he goes public with these announcements they get out of his control and it leads to bad press and puts him in a more difficult negotiating position and weakens the return |
