Murray made that situation much worse than it had to be. Trading him at the dealing is still just a rental situation and his value would not have been all that different.

Why is he the x factor, because he is so highly touted right now as a potential TWF stud like Toews that Chi would part with a player like Sharp for him if he was in the deal. Thing is that is what Chi offered earlier in the season for Smith before they picked up Richards, as well as the rumor of Sharp/Leddy for Greening/Smith/lazar. Lazar would be the only way Chi would have accepted to send Sharp and Leddy for Greening and Smith.

Spezza is nearly two year conversation with most of the guys here. They know how strongly I argued for him to be traded. It was my main point that your best return was last year.

If you want to discuss this stuff fine. But, at least respect the history. A lot of the guys have given me lumps here based on legitimate hockey differences. As I told you previously, don't make it about personality. If you are disrespectful it will be returned in kind.

See there in lies the problem now Chi filled a need with someone else. Now they just would still like Smith and Greening. The issue is what do we ask for in return that would help us, there is not much in a return they would be willing to part with that fits our needs.
