Think it's purely depth, more competition, etc.
- Nucker101

In that case our bottom six and bottom pairing will be deep as (frank)

Not in a good way for opponents you mean
- VANTEL

Opponents will have bruises but smiling looking at their stats after the game. Guess we shoulda outbid Calgary for Engelland and traded Tanev

Does anyone else think that since the Canucks are trying to resign Weber that either another NTC d-man will be traded or Corrado will remain in the AHL? I have to think that they will not have Sbisa as the odd man out, and why resign Weber if he is just going to play in Utica? Even if they did I can't see them not playing Sbisa after they traded for him, so if they have Corrado as the 7th man then what is the point?
- bezz44

Corrado will be in the A.

Kinda hard not to get good value with a RFA bridge contract....
- Nucker101

He was in no position to command big $$$ so yes I agree.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Corrado started in the AHL, and then got called up with an injury. I think much of that will play itself out at camp.

Just looked at some posession stats of how certain d-men play with each other and apart over the past 2 years.

1) Hamhuis and Tanev actually have better possession numbers when apart, they need to be split up.

2) Tanev and Edler together have fantastic possession numbers, I really hope they stick as a pairing.

3) Hamhuis and Bieksa have solid numbers when together as well.

4) Edler is not as good with Bieksa.

5) Stanton also played well with Bieksa, but Bieksa played easier minutes when paired with him.

6) The only other partner Hamhuis had chemistry with was Garrison.

Edler - Tanev
Hamhuis - Bieksa

Has to be the way to go IMO.

Stanton was a great fill guy he played consistent with whoever he was paired with. Read his D mate's well. I would like to see him play more but I think he will be our#7

Kassian is my favourite Canuck.

Which means I guess Hodgson was my favourite draft pick.

True, I don't mind him playing in the AHL either. Despite my outburst I'm okay with (after hyperventilating into a paper bag) going the Detroit route and letting the kids ferment

Depth is easier to acquire once you have a couple of stars and an owner willing to go over the luxury tax cap. There's always decent bench players looking to sign with contenders.

I like the competition for roster spots Benny has created. Nothing changes the atmosphere in the locker room like fighting for a roster spot on opening night. This is going to be an exciting training camp and pre season hockey.

the question is what does Zogg or Marwood think of this signing?

you wankers! ha ha, yes, for the record, I must say I'm very pleased (and relieved) with this move (although please kindly help with me this continued Miller bitterness lol)
