Way too much for him. Couldn't play anywhere else
but the desert. Washed out in Colorado,Carolina, Chicago
and Tampa Bay.
Signed by TB after a career year in Phoenix and they sent him back
to the Czech Republic after 18 games because he stunk it up so bad.

To sign kassian and tanev, another body is going to be shipped out, question is, who is next? - chompsey
My guess is one of Higgins or Hansen. |

Same. Burrows being the longshot. Maybe Matthias. |

18 games in TB, too small of a sample size, but the fact they basically deported him is alarming. Not sure how he exactly sucked for COL or CHI when I look at his numbers though.

In Chicago he earned a nickname that started with a V and ended with an A
that was part of the female anatomy and sort of rhymed with his name. Chicago fans hated him. |

I hope so - time to cut him lose. 2nd round pick. - LeftCoaster
Based on that Josh Gorges went for a 2nd round pick, I think we'd be lucky with a 3rd for Burrows. |

At this point they may even do that straight up. He's shut them down twice. |

"There are simply too many assets in Vancouver for the Canucks to drop to the bottom of the league the way an Edmonton or Buffalo has. But if they don’t use those assets to get younger — the way Benning turned Kesler into Bonino (26), Luca Sbisa (24), Dorsett (27) and centre Jared McCann at the draft — they’ll hit the same cliff Edmonton and Calgary have fallen off.
This Canucks team will legitimately push for the playoffs, but if we know Benning — and we’ve been, ahem, right about him thus far — he may forego another first-round exit to maximize a couple of veteran assets at the trade deadline.
When you have a blueline that includes Edler (28), Kevin Bieksa (33), and Dan Hamhuis (32 in December), you’ve got options. One of those defencemen may be worth a first-round pick and a legit prospect at the trade deadline, a time when a guy as smart as Benning with a defenceman as valuable as Bieksa can be a lethal combination."
An article from Spec that I can agree with...

I really hope this comes true. Two first round picks each year seems to be doing wonders for our prospect pool.
Benning can't be done quite yet... He still has to off load a goalie or else we'll lose one through waivers for nothing. Every GM knows that so I'm not expecting much in return.

He should fit right in.
I posted his numbers the past 2 years against CHI/LA/BOS/SJ/ANA versus Kesler's in the last blog. He's softer than Kesler yet out produced him against tougher competition so there's some give and take there. Obviously Kesler is better defensively as well.
Radim Vrbata against CHI/STL/ANA/LA/BOS the last 2 regular seasons
34 Games
8 Goals
15 Assists
23 Points
Full Season Pace:
82 Games
19 Goals
36 Assists
55 Points
The Coyotes scored 341 goals during the last 2 seasons.
Ryan Kesler against those same teams during the last 2 regular seasons
26 Games
6 Goals
3 Assists
9 Points
Full Season Pace:
82 Games
19 Goals
9.5 Assists(came out at 9.46 so I didn't want to go either way)
28.5 Points
The Canucks scored 323 goals during the last 2 seasons. |

I'm not as against moving Bieksa as others here, but he's likely gonna be very hard to trade with his NTC. |

Was thinking the same. No need to sweeten the pot for a guy who more than likely will never play for the Jets again. |

I thought they signed Clemenson? The only problem with trading with NJ is they are in a rebuild or something, and they would be crazy parting with picks and I think that is what we want- along with prospects. |
