i wonder how hard mact is workin the phones lookin for a stop gap 2c?
is he hitting a brick wall? or happy with the way the squad looks?


with this current lineup (arco@2c and drasaitl/lander@3c) id say the chances of playoffs are almost nil. even battling for a spot isnt a sure thing.

a quality stop gap at that spot (berglund etc)gives us a glimmer of hope, and at least being relevant in the playoff picture until the end is absolutely plausible.


lot of ifs and we'll sees of course, but I think mact might be forced into adding that piece. even if it costs him a prospect or a higher pick he didnt wanna move cause he's relatively pleased with the roster. another bottom feeder finish would be disastrous

What's there to write about? 2C trade targets?

you gotta think if Eakins gets poopcanned 20 games in, Ramsay's a pretty damn good replacement. Might be the best thing for the team if the 5on5 play is still horrendous

I didn't know it was stauffer that brought up Bailey. Hmmm.

Just not sure what the isles would want from us. Seem to have a deep forward core now that they added kulemin and grabo. Maybe a defenseman, but that's not something we could spare, not for Bailey anyway. Can't see the isles wanting picks/prospects.

Would eberle for Bailey + Nelson work for both teams? NYI isn't great on RW. We add two capable LW/Cs

Ya more likely worse than better but maybe not by a huge Margin. Nelson has good underlying numbers. Maybe the year after it pays off more.

Fair points. But the way Nelson is trending, maybe he can play top 6 next year. His rookie numbers (advanced) are better than couturiers rookie numbers, albeit he was older than sean. Willis did a good article today. Seems to play all three zones well.

I'd consider it. Don't know if Nelson's trade value is there yet, but it sounds like NYI will do their very best to hold on to him. Does Draisaitl become a full time winger when he's ready?
