If this is true I say trade yak. (frank) him and his primadona attitude. Worst +\- in the league but give me more ice time. Grow up and be a (frank)ing man. Play hard and keep your mouth shut and tell your agent to shut his banana eater too. God damn I wish we drafted Ryan Murray! Rabble! Rabble! Rabble! - Ihatebrianburke
Ryan Murray would look great on the Oil Blueline.
But Yak could be a 30 goal scorer... Tough one. |

If teams could stop overpaying him, he wouldn't have to be bought out so much. - Oilers4Life14
His last contract with Tampa was fuc@ing ridiculous. The 4.5 per hit with Philly isn't horrible, but he signed a 5 year deal so they are stuck with it for a while. The term really hurts the Flyers and the fact his value is decreasing significantly and he's is being paid for the player he "used" to be. |

The thing is, Murray thrives in Columbus because he wasn't rushed. Yak was, and well he is now hated on. If we drafted Murray, he possibly could have been rushed (he did get a kee though I believe) and he possibly could have been our worst blueliner, while Yak wouldn't be rushed in Columbus and he gets 30 or some goals.
It all depends on the team. |

I read this in Freeman's voice and believe every (frank)ing word you say
Edit: I think Yak will come back with a good year, he isn't the first player to struggle in their second year, but most act like he is |

Yeah, im pretty sure he will have a decent year. Hopefully consistent linemates and a year more mature will help.

Thrives??? He was hurt and never played in the lockout shortened season and only had 66 games last year. Wasn't rushed is pretty inaccurate as he played last season, so it is not like they kept him in the minors to develop. Thrives is also pumping his tires about as bad as leafs fans like to pump Lupul's because he had one good season. - ruttager17
This season:
Yakupov: 63GP, 11G, 13A, 24P, -33 +/-
Murray: 66GP, 4G, 17A, 21P, 4 +/-
It's not really "overhyping" Murray, he plays defense, and compared to Yakupov's point production, I'd much rather have Murray.
Also Murray was playing on Columbus' second line with Wisnewski... While Yak went up and down the lineup, playing with Hall, Nuge, Gagner, and Perron at times. Of course he played with Smyth and Gordon but Yakupov mostly played on the second line...
I really hope Yak can have a bounce back season... but honestly it doesn't matter anymore, because it's in the past. |

It's all about the fans perception. Yak was rushed and is now a bust because he regressed.
Murray was brought along slowly, because he didn't play his first year and hasn't yet had a chance to show if he will take a step back. As for lupul, his most recent season was good, so why bring up the previous ones? It doesn't matter that he has been inconsistent and injury prone, all that matters is what the masses want to believe. |

I don't think he is a bust... I just don't think he deserves a 6x6 contract that the rest of the young guns have...
And if he doesn't get it, you know Larianov will be in his ear to bolt to Russia... |

Never once said over hyping. Said thrives, and wasn't rushed were inaccurate. He also averaged just under 20mins/game, while Yakupov who for some reason you are comparing him to averaged just over 14 mins. Murray has played one NHL season. If he doesn't play well next year in his sophomore season just as yak did this year, will he suddenly become rushed and underachieving???? |

Murray also got to play sheltered minutes against easier competition along side a vet Dman. When he didnt play with Wiz he didnt fare too well. On the Oilers he would not be getting those same easy minutes.

You are way too over influenced by what everyone else says on these boards kid. Be your own person, not a hybrid of Newmy, Systemtool, Vantel, Hallwillcrushyou etc. etc. etc. - ruttager17
I'm not influenced by anyone on this site. I'm merely saying that he doesn't deserve the same type of contract that Hall, Eberle, or Nuge has because he has not earned it. If you are saying that he does deserve a 6 million dollar contract for 5+ years, then you should get off whatever drug you are doing and give your head a shake, because yakupov, at this point in his career, does not deserve 6 million.
Obviously this can change if let's say he gets 70+ points next year. Then if I were MacT I'd give him that deal (or a bridge deal to see if he can do it again) and we can live happily ever after. |
