I think Deslauriers, provided he makes the team, addresses this too. And Stewart - though I am not his biggest fan - has been known to (Garth reference in 3,2,1...) chuck the knucks here and there.
By committee, this team should be more accountable, harder to play against, tougher, and should get us 8-10 more wins. And still finish last few bottom rungs. |

It will severely annoy me if Delauries sits or stays in Rochester for Kaleta or McCormick.
Delauriers is more than capable IMO |

Meet Josh Gorges . Compliments to Engels blog. He has a few more vids there. I thought this one stood out. Seems we acquired a pretty usefull D man.

That video is awesome... this is the kind of guy who will represent night-in and night-out for Buffalo fans everywhere. I was raised with the blue-collar mentality of WNY and hold that dear to my heart every day... most folks down here in Florida don't "get it". I couldn't be happier to see a guy like Gorges not only come to play for the Sabres, but want to be a part of the team and community! Murray knows what he's doing, I'm sold on that already. Going to be well-worth the wait of the next 2-3 years to see this whole thing come together. That being said, I'd still much rather see Ott in our lineup vs Mitchell... just saying that I hope to see him back again (on 2-3 year deal). |

Lines???
Moulson-Ennis-Stafford
Hodgson-Reinhart-Stewart
Ott (I hope)-Girgensons-Gionta
Kaleta-McCormick-Foligno
Extra Forwards: Flynn / Mitchell
Amerk Call-Ups: Deslauriers, Larsson, Adam
I like Deslauriers a lot, but I don't think learning the forward position at the NHL level will be the best thing for his development. This isn't a year that he needs to be on the roster, so another full season on the wing in Rochester (with the occasional call-up) until Stewart and/or Stafford are traded should be good for him. Same goes for Larsson, IMO.

Hopefully, guys like Kaleta, Foligno, Stewart, Delauriers, Girgensons & Webber can help tow the line.
Foligno/Girgensons/Stewart & Delauriers/McKormick/Kaleta are definately 2 lines that can play with a lot of jam. |

I thought I heard a tidbit from TM saying that "there may not be a lot of room left for Ott here anymore, after the teams July 1st moves".
Sounded to me like Murray doesn't want to over do it. The plan is still to be bad, but we had to get to the cap floor. |

Now they'll likey have to dump Stafford & Stewart at the deadline (lest losing those assets to UFA for nothing), but what if doing so results in them dropping under the cap floor mid-season...
What kind of penaltys could the league impose on the Sabres? Ones with draft implications?
I do think Bettman would prefer that the Sabres be relevant tho. Simply because he's all for Pegula opening his pocketbook. |

I believe it would technically be draft pick losses, chosen by Bettman (not completly sure though).
But I am not worried about that, because worse case scenario, we can keep part of both their salary, and take some salary back (ala Mitchell in the Moulson deal). |

I would be fine either way with Deslauriers, but I do think there are advantages of him going to Rochester. One would be to further develop him as a forward, which he is still getting used to, basically there are still things he can learn at that level. The other advantage would be to form a comradery with the players there. |

I think both Pegula and the regime change in the front office has done a lot for the sabres when it comes to how they're viewed by the NHL. Now of course, TM could easily ruin that if he doesnt watch what he says.
