We wouldn't be getting Stone for Stewart
I think OTT trades for Marleau anyway - sbroads24
I'd add whatever needed. Probably would take a 2nd |

I know we just signed the one defenseman for the 2 way contract but we really need to sign one or two more defenseman for Rochester.. Right now I count it as
Bagnall Brady G Leduc Strachan
NHL
Myers, Weber, Georges, Pysyk, Meszaros
Then guys that could go either way
McCabe, Ristolainen, Ruhwedel maybe Zadorov if he can make the roster.
They will need 7 defenseman on the NHL roster for sure it's just a necessity. So if you add two from the maybes lets say McCabe and Ristolainen that makes 7. Zadorov goes back to juniors Ruhwedel to AHL. Still leaves only 5 in AHL... - bluengold12
I honestly think Zadorov plays this year in Buffalo, same with Risto. Zads is too good for the OHL and Risto proved towards the end he was ready. He could also alternate with another Roch D-man
So it would be:
Gorges-Myers
Zadorov-Risto
Mez-Pysyk
Weber
Bagnall-McCabe
JGL-Ruhwedel
Strachan-Austin
depth D |

IMO it's Stone. Put up 123 points in 66 junior games in 2011-2012. Put up 41 points in 37 games in the AHL, 8pts in 19 with Ottawa this year, and is a big body. Puempel didn't even crack pt/gm status in his last junior year, and didn't do nearly as well in the AHL. Puempel is also not nearly as physical, and is much smaller. - LetsGoBuffalo75
People I talk to in Ottawa love Puempel though. They don't want to part with him the most out of all the prospects. Seems like Puempel has the most offensive upside. Stone is good as well but Puempel fits a better organizational weakness (LW) I've heard Puempel as the 2nd best prospect in their pool to Lazar. |

definitely Puempel. Probaby the closest to NHL ready, followed by Stone and Prince.
My best guess is if they do end up moving Stewart alone or Stewart & random forward for a package that they sign Ott - CaptPantalones
Are you sure? Stone is the only one out of that group that got NHL playing time, and he did well. 8 points in 19 games. He also had 41 points in 37 games with Binghamton. Puempel had 48 in 74. If Stone played as many games there as Puempel did, he would've put up 82 points... 34 more than Puempel. |

I agree he's for sure too good for the OHL but just a gut feeling they send him down at least after a few games.. McCabe I know everyone just assumes him as an AHL player next year but I recall him only signing because he was told he'd play in the NHL rather than the AHL. Otherwise he would have waited another year in college.. Who knows if he's eased a bit on that request but that's what I remember. |

Many here would also have rather parted with Vanek than Gerbe. Fan favorites aren't always the best players.
Puempel is a relatively small guy that can probably put up 25 goals and 15/20 assists at his peak in the NHL (he scores alot more than he assists.), while I see Stone as a 25/30 goal and 30/35 assist guy at his peak. Stone also can play much more physical, while having much better discipline. IMO Stone has shown a hell of a lot more than Puempel, and that's a reason he got NHL playing time. |

Hockey futures has Puempel at 6'0... that's hardly short.. |

Ottawa is figuring Stone into the top 6 next season, he's part of their future. Id take him over Puempel too IMO |

I didn't say short, I said relatively small. Compared to Stone, I'd definitely say he's relatively small. Either way, that was probably the most minor thing in my comment... |

IMO he's an actually consistent Staff/Stewart kind of guy. He'll be solid for them. I think the only reason Sens fans want Puempel over Stone is the fact that one was a 6th rounder (Stone), and the other was a 1st rounder (Puempel). That actually makes me pretty excited. Tim Murray has found some gems in the later rounds. |

Apologies if it's already been posted but fwiw,
Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 2h
McGuire: I talked to an NHL GM two days ago who had "significant interest" in Tyler Myers. Wasn't sure if #Sabres were asking right price.

McGuire on Tyler Myers: Depends what marketplace will bear, but I do think there's probably an interest in potentially moving him. #Sabres

I can't imagine Ottawa would trade one of their top prospects- Puempel or Stone for Chris Stewart who has only one year left on his deal. |

That's why I'd add in a 2nd or whatever needed. I can't imagine they'd want an insane amount more for them. |

Stewart has very little trade value, everyone's made such a deal about the "alleged" problems kane has but stewart's is basically in the open. He's on what his 3rd team in 3 or 4 years?
Moulson got us two 2nds last year, i suspect stewart will get us one plus some cap coming back the other way. |

I really hope WE aren't the ones asking for the price... If anything, the interested team should be asking US what we want. |

Yea I think he meant that as the GM wanting myers wasn't sure about the kind of price (whether it's worth matching) the sabres were looking for.
You know, I like Myers but I want to see him traded. Not because I think he's bad but because if Murray stays firm on his high offer and someone matches, it could be better for us in the long run. |

I'm not sure Ottawa makes the deal tbh. If it includes Puempel or Stone, one of our top prospects goes back. |

I would just assume keep Stewart and move him at the deadline for a pick.

If he gets dealt that's what it will be which is why I'd be for it. He's not looking to move him so the deal he says yes to will be a damn good one. |

I'd do Stewart, a 2nd, and someone like Adam or maybe even Larsson, though I would probably take out the 2nd if we included Larsson. |

I'm not moving him unless I'm getting a E Kane/D Player on their roster back or a Eberle +. I don't care how out of the way it sounds only way I trade him is unless we get away with 1st degree larceny. |

In terms of untouchable assets for me he's right up there.. IMO it goes
Reinhart
Risto
Zadorov
Girgensons
Armia
Myers
in that order in terms of untouchable |

I agree...I think all this Myers speculation has something to do with a no-trade clause in his contract that kicks in soon? |
