Yea I think he meant that as the GM wanting myers wasn't sure about the kind of price (whether it's worth matching) the sabres were looking for.

You know, I like Myers but I want to see him traded. Not because I think he's bad but because if Murray stays firm on his high offer and someone matches, it could be better for us in the long run.

Yea I get that and Im sure Murray sees it as well which is why I'd be for it. It was mentioned on the last page, the trade would have to border on larceny for Murray to take it which is solid for us (probably requires us to draft another d-man but id be for it).

Other teams know his contract has a no trade that kicks in soon, and covet a young, RH shooting defensemen, signed long term at a reasonable cap hit. Myers wasnt drafted by TM and they may be trying to see if they can pry him away before the no trade kicks in.

Maybe a gm really likes him for his potential and wants to gamble but Murray would rather the assets coming back? Especially if a team is offering someone that Murray has really had his eyes on.

That seems like the perfect time frame for this team to contend. Reinhart, and next years first round picks are gonna need a year or two to acclimate to the NHL anyway,... no matter how high end talented they are..I like Myers, solid #2d and possible even a #1. However, if the type of trade comes along that Murray would consider... (2015 1st rounder and a high end prospect?) I'm listening for sure.

Pick and a high end prospect, yes. Although I do agree with you, I'd be curious do hear the type of larceny it would take to get him.
