In that case definitely sell some vet assets, but if we are in the running I don't think they will make that call

The huge question mark for me is Burrows more than the Sedins. Is he going to be a 25 goal scorer or 10. If he puts it in the Net the twins numbers will go up . If he struggles then we will have a 4.5 mil third liner.

Highins should be moved for a roster spot alone. Give a kid a chance.

The start of the season is the one time of the year you can be sure you are in first place

IMO, unless he's buried in the bottom 6 for most of the season, Burrows will be around the 20 goal mark this season.

Really excited to see what WD can squeeze out of the twins. Really hoping for 70+ pts. Would be so nice to see them with that swagger where they dominate shifts for two minutes like a few times they did in Edmonton. Just all out domination. Would love to see those guys again.

I think the Michael Jordan-esque control over the game over nearly all opponents is probably out of their reach now, but I could easily see elements of that against weaker opponents.

The key to get the Sedins to 70+ numbers is fixing the PP. Get our PP into the top quarter of the league and we should see them around that total.

15-20 should be a reasonable expectation for him, he looked like he was a lot slower last year, although he did have two major injuries.

Five million salary this year, four million next year and three million the last year of his deal.

Ijuries were a burden last year even on Team Canada. I don't see him getting younger.

I would try to still package him and Higgins to AVs team the RangersBurrows would fit well with Nash

I mentioned it yesterday but I read a few articles last year which mentioned that cage-like helmet he was wearing obstructed his view directly looking down to the bottom of his skates. In a game that moves as quickly as this one and where timing is so crucial for him in and around the net, no longer have that will be a boost as well.

Sounds like Tanev is on the verge of a 1 year, 3 mill, contract.

To Fix the PP you would need to get rid of that two man cycle

I don't mind that. Give us a bit of time to see what we have and a nice TDL move seeing he will want 5 mil next year.

SJ has lost a step and had their confidence shattered by the Kings, the Ducks have added a cancer an the Kings are resting on their laurels, and are an average regular season team. Canucks will win the division, Burrows will score 30, and miller will win the Vezina.

Agreed. I think it can be made more inventive with the right coach. The Sedins are coachable but if the coaches are simply saying "go out there and do your thing", they will inevitably revert to their cycle game.

I agree. If we truly want to move in a new direction then Higgins, Hansen, burrows should all be moved. 4.5 is too much for a third liner. Package Higgins and burrows to say the islanders or Columbus for some young prospects that are knocking on the door but just no room for them.

One of the many things about the Sedins is they do what is best for,the team. If the coach says jump they ask how high.

I would do Higgins Burrows for Derick Brassard. Cap space and roster spots for a third line centre, like we don't have enough.

I personally see Burrows as the best compliment we have for the Sedin line but, as a general rule of them, if you view a player on your team as an expensive 3rd liner so will everyone else.

I personally don't think it's possible to move Burrows without taking on a bad salary or eating a large chunk of his contract but do believe he can still provide value to this team.
