Don't get me wrong I have often marveled at the Sedins ability to control the play and feed off each other, perfectly executing give and goes or slap passes but the skills that I have missed on this team are the ones shown by the Patty Kanes, Matt Duchenes, Pavol Datsyk etc.

I don't mean to take anything away from what the Sedin's have accomplished, I just look forward to watching dekes, dangles and one on one moves on this team again.

Why? He's born and raised in Canada.

It was a joke based on his dual citizenship.

This is what I want to see and as amazing as that goal was by the Sedins ( again not taking anything away from them) I want to see guys making plays at high speed off the rush.

So you guys are finally digging the McCann pick ? I personally think he'll pan out better than Virtanen. Maybe it's just that Virtanen was never a sexy pick IMO, I would have much preferred more skill at that pick.

Too be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Demko ends up being the best player for us out of the draft but that is based more my uncertainty of this draft class in general.

I wouldnt have selected McCann over Virtanen. In fact, since non of the 5 picked fell to 6, I'm glad we took him. Even better since they picked a skilled two way C at 24th.

I wasnt a big Ehlers fan. Maybe take him if we got the 10th in the trade and took Ritchie if Virtanen was gone... I liked the way it worked out in the end. Would have felt more secure if we got Reinhardt. I think more additional picks are coming and thats why Benning was willing to deal youth to move up.

Timing as well. By the time he's ready, it may be the Canucks biggest concern. Miller will be gone, Lack may be gone and Markstrom and Eriksson may not be the answer if still here.

I really like Nylander, think he's gonna be a steal. I see the big and strong ideology in the Western Conference but I think Nylander and Ehlers have skills that nobody else in the draft possess.

I preferred Ehlers over Virtanen, don't care where they're born. As for McCann, I didn't mind the puck at all. Others I liked in that spot were Scherbak, Barbeshev and Kempe.

Doubt Demko will be ready by then, will probably need seasoning in the AHL still at that point. Might lead to a short-term Miller extension if he plays out his entire contract and Lack is gone. Or they'll sign another stopgap.

So there is controversy already with Jake Virtanen. When the next Olympic invites are sent to out, who does he play for? Canada or Finland?

Bezz, I think a lot of people take what the Sedins do for granted. I'm not sure if I've ever seen such an incredibly creative/productive (and exciting) tandem since perhaps the Kurri Gretkzy days (although I realize different era, different styles etc etc)

P.S. I realize there were/are other combinations on different teams but I can't ever recall seeing the level of execution that the Sedins have demonstrated time and time again

I actually would have taken Nylander but how could you not take a local boy with that much skill in the top ten? lots of character childhood dream of being a canuck. That in itself is a pretty f@cking awesome dream to live out. It was mine at one point and you don't see it that often. I think he was happier than anyone in the top ten.

Fair enough, so dangle and shoot is basically your particular flavour of choice. Fun to watch for sure. Maybe Shinkaruk one day?

Getzlaf/Perry do a good job of it, but you're right, nothing like the degree to which the twins read off each other
