I’m learning about the ups and downs of the business and realize the success of the hockey team is not in my control.

We just want Trevor to be what he is and who he is and leave it with him to put the best product possible on the ice.

Just curious (100% sincere), what is Mike Gillis up to these days? Is he taking time off before going back into being an agent, does he want to be a GM again or work for another team in any kind of management capacity?

Usually you hear something after a coach or GM is let go that they moved into a smaller role with another team with the quote of "it's my goal to be a ____ again someday..." etc.

If anyone has any info that'd be cool. I guess the same goes for Torts. I'm curious if he'll be an asst coach or coach overseas soon...

He's under contract. No hurry to take a small role for less money I suppose. Also, as long as he's under that contract, he cant open his mouth about what went on. Ownership likes that probably.

I'm liking the idea of Benning leaving Boston on good terms. They could turn out to be long standing trade partners who don't end up raping the Canucks on a regular basis. Benning seems to have a healthy relationship with the rest of the league.

Gillis was a business disaster when it came to making friends going all the way back to his agent days.

Deadline for offer sheets has now passed. I might like to see no compensation if a team loses a player to an offer sheet - ie if OS if signed, the current team has a chance to match but, if they don't, they get nothing in return. How much more exciting would that make the off-season?
