Markstrom wants a new address.
- VANTEL

So, Luongo gets traded for a 3/4 line centre and (at best ) a pick.

Thanks Gillis & Torts!!

I think this summer is the only time left to steal Niño N from Minny I. Think after this year he will be untouchable like Simmonds became .

Lack Tanev and a 2 nd for Niño

Or Edler but I doubt he waives. He would look good with Suter.

What has Nino done to give you this boner for him?

I like his game . He is big and can score and he can play tough. He will keep improving every year.

I liked right from the World Jrs . One of my favourite young starship would be great with Shinkaruk. 14 goals in his first year next year 20 +

Seems like a real overpayment, would you trade Lack, Tanev & 2nd for Kassian?

Offering up Alex Burrows or Higgins won't cut the mustard.
I see him more of an Evander Kane than a Kassian.

Burrows in 2006 scored 3 goals in 81 games and 5 last year , what's your point?

He played on a Sh!tty Islanders team that misused him and he didn't want to be there.

I wonder if this is just speculation? I've seen people source Botchford for saying this, but haven't seen Botchford stating it.

Regardless, I can think of a few teams who could use a goaltending prospect; WPG, OTT, CAR, TOR (if Reimer gets moved or not ) maybe even PIT or PHI.

So Canucks top 6 d-men pairings look like this...

Edler / Hamhuis

Bieksa / Tanev

Stanton / Sbisa

7/8

Weber / Corrado / Sanguinetti

To me looks like we're sitting pretty with our defence core for the up coming year.

Thanks to Sir Benning...

Boston just lost their back up maybe Benning can swing a deal with his old friends.
- VANTEL

Behind a young Rask would be a dead end for Markstrom's career, unless he can make a decent showing and get traded for an expanded role somewhere else.

Thanks for the link.

Even though Benning says he is done tinkering for the summer, there is a lot question marks on the roster that suggest he is not.

Only 2 RH D in your line up, IMO one of Webber or Corrado beat out Sbisa for the 6 spot. Time will tell though.

Do you think Benning is responsible for assembling that D core? Swapping Garrison for an oft-injured Sbisa doesn't change the complexion much.

Markstrom IMO is not ready and should be hiding behind a great #1

My point is it wasn't his first year.

As stats go you are right . NYI did not like the kid he did not like the Islanders and was given very very little chance to succeed.

top pairing is two lefties and 2nd pairing is two lefties.

I see the D breaking down like this personally.

Edler-Tanev.
Hamhius-Bieksa
Sbisa-Weber
6th-Stanton
AHL-corrado.

you have lefty righty on each d pairing. I think you need to have Weber out there since we don't really have a good right handed shot on the PP other than him. Plus i beleive both Sbisa and him are both Swiss.... maybe they played together and there is some familarity there? i think Corrado needs to prove more at the AHL level. Put him out there in all key situations, pk, pp, against the opps top lines. i think he can be a good player, but needs a bit more time. Still way ahead of schedule for a 5th rounder from just a couple of years ago.

I am predicting he scores 22 this year playing second line minutes. I also think Kassian will be a 20/20/40 player this year

I know a lot of fans on here really like the Canucks D. I am not a huge fan of it ( there's a shocker). Hamuis Tanev and Stanton are reliable D , very little to say negatively about them. Bieksa Edler are wild but have a big upside. COrrado will be a jack of all trades type .There are many positives.

The type I wish for , is a true skilled smooth fast skater that is PPQB . I want another guy with an accurate hard shot. I want two really tough Dmen like a young Darcy Reigher. And a Tanev and Hamhuis to round it out.

Ideally i'd love the canucks to add Boychuck and plug him into where weber is on the lineup i had

Edler-Tanev
Hamhius-Boychuck
Sbisa-Bieksa

don't know what the price for boychuck is, but it has to be fairly limited since the Bruins are in cap hell and he's UFA next year.
