Ideally i'd love the canucks to add Boychuck and plug him into where weber is on the lineup i had
Edler-Tanev
Hamhius-Boychuck
Sbisa-Bieksa
don't know what the price for boychuck is, but it has to be fairly limited since the Bruins are in cap hell and he's UFA next year. - Mungo
I think prospects would do the trick as you said they are in Cap hell.
The big rumour is Edmonton to are hot on Johnny Boy.
I am very curious and anxious about this 6'7 Russian . He looks like he could be a game changer from the highlight reel we seen. |

Agreed. Would be a nice change to see a real physical pressence on the Canucks backend. It's been something we've needed. I'm interested to see what this hutton kid looks like as well. He's a decent sized player and has maded massive gains in the last year. Kid used to play forward so you know there has to be some above average offensive instincts compared to most other D. |

Picking up Myers and Boychuk would really beef up the RHD. |

Whats the story on Anton Cederholm? He looks like he might be a decently physical defenceman in the future... I'm also intrigued to see what the big Russian brings to training camp |

Cedarholm is a stay at home Dman . Likes to fight occasionally . Ducker doesn't know if he will be on the team because of possession stats, but from what I seen of him I can see him passing Stanton. |

One thing I don't like about these prospect camps is the team bonding. You are going in there to compete for a career in the game of hockey. You should be looking to knock someone's block of or check them into another universe. |

Big Russian won't be available to play In the Nhl for two years I think. I recall hearing that he's signed to the khl for 2 more years though. But if he chooses to come here it's nice development that he's played against guys like kovalcash and boltulov. |

Do you think Benning is responsible for assembling that D core? Swapping Garrison for an oft-injured Sbisa doesn't change the complexion much. - AlexF
The Tanev contract was swift and sweet.

Like McNally? I remember Fosco saying he didnt think McNally missing a year of college would be terrible. I wonder what he thinks now?

I would keep the pick, they're going to want it next off season and Boychuk probably wouldn't re-sign next year. |

"Sure, I like Vrbata, but I have been saying for months that they can't afford to waste his roster spot on a 32 year old declining 20 goal scorer..."
I can't exactly get teary eyed over the hugely overrated Vrbata and the fact that the Canucks - learning exactly nothing from the weak return on Ryan Kessler - were willing to give out a no trade clause that the Coyotes wouldn't.
In fact, an interesting story emerged after Vrbata signed his 2 year $10 Million Dollar contract with the Canucks that the Coyotes worked hard to sign him and offered less money but more term, but then balked at giving him a no movement clause."
James Tanner - Coyotoes blogger
Do I agree with everything he's said - NO. But do I agree with some of the main points (NTC), inflated salary BINGO.
Not trying to beat a dead horse (otherwise I'd start ranting about Miller again) but interesting to hear different perspectives (even if there is a bit of a hometown bias involved) |

I read that as he's chapped that he left. Pheonix, like Nashville, were the franchises that created home grown talent and were competitive budget teams on a tight budget. Now both teams are losing more talent than their producing and are realizing that their teams are going to suck. You don't want to pin it on their GM's who have done a great job on a low budget so let's blame the player or the rival team with cash...
Canucks overpaid for Vbrata but its something they can deal with for the next two years as a stop-gap while the kids are developing. His partial NTC doesn't really matter either way to us. If we aren't going to be a playoff team and we flip him at the deadline we'll get less in return for an asset we didn't give anything up to get...
Really isn't too much of a downside. |

James just pulled an Ian with a troll blog - must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't agree with him BTW. Canucks finish higher than the Yotes or I'll send him $100 bucks. |

Yah, the last part as concerns his 'Canucks prediction' was a bit much - he seems to be channeling his inner Esplen, indeed |
