I really don't see what's xenophobic about what he said. It's not untrue. the West steps all over itself to give others rights their own citizens could never even dream of having in other countries.

One of the points of pride as a Canadian is our acceptance of other cultures. That's a big part of Canada's positive image abroad... An image that the current government seems intent on tarnishing.

Bending over backwards to find a loophole around a charter that cleary allows freedoms of religion and expression in a way that targets one group, because of a boogeyman is xenophobic. Not only that, it's exactly the type of thing any kind of extremist would jump on as a rallying cry.

No changes need to be made to accommodate the niqqab... The framework is already clearly laid out. This is only becoming an issue because Harper wants to distract form his terrible record of late, and win the vote of people fearing an Islamic invasion. It's the same kind of thinking that lead to one of the biggest bruises in Canada's history; the internment of Asians who did nothing wrong.

What dopps sees as "giving an inch" is really just sticking to the status quo. Changing the fundemental freedoms afforded to everyone in Canada, on the other hand, is an inch towards facism... From a government that's already walked a mile in that direction with bill c-51. But like all terrible regimes in history, this one is getting people to swallow it up by shifting attention towards a scapegoat... Not to mention offering bribes in the form of tax cuts.



Tldr; Harper is a fascist, people who are voting conservative are being doppsed with hate and bribes.

Calling someone "racist" or a "bigot" or "xenophobic" is a tried and true left wing progressive tactic used to shut down debate on an issue, such as creeping sharia.

It's right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, which has been the progressive bible for over 40 years now.

Progressives are the "useful idiots" of the Muslim brotherhood, who will use Western Democracies as the the train they ride to their ultimate objective.
