Straight white (christian) dudes have been the ruling class for a while... western society has basically been built to cater to us, so any attempt to even the playing field will naturally look like an attempt to put us down.

Here's the thing, you can't refuse to provide a service to someone based on their gender/orientation/religion/race... that's discrimination... but an employee is allowed to refuse work based on their moral objections.

It's two separate situations that seem similar enough to be confusing... and it doesn't help when you have far-right media personalities willingly spinning them that way.


Mind you, I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't take a job you know will interfere with your beliefs.

Where I live there simply AREN'T enough minorities to fill a lot of these jobs, and so there are positions that go unfilled with some government agencies because there are almost exclusively the whitest people on the planet here.

I don't think quotas are allowed in the US. At least in colleges I believe. Schools can set a number they'd like to meet and they can apply bonus points to a resume if the applicant is diverse, but they can't outright accept the best black students until they reach 10% or whatever the number is.
