Concurrent in french means "rival" in this instance, and I thought it did in english too. but by reading you guys' answers, I get the feeling that it doesn't, lol

in english it means when something is happening at the same time as something else.

like flag day and my bumhole father's birthday are both june 14th. so they happen concurrently.
