Any truth to the rumor I am hearing about Evander Kane being in a Sabres sweater soon?
Thank you in advance for any reply.
Ciao for now. |

Without trades I'll close to guarantee the line up will look something like this...
Moulson Ennis Stafford
Hodgson Reinhart Gionta
Foligino Girgensons Stewart
Deslurias McCormick/ Kaleta, Mitchell, Flynn, Larsson
Myers Georges
Risto Mezaros
Pysyk Weber

Kaleta will be in there somewhere. - sippyd
I think Kaleta is in over Flynn.
Flynn is the extra man and Ellis is the first call up. |

Arizona will be a playoff team
that team is way better than us - GERBE!!!75PTS
Arizona will be a playoff team??
You do realize they play in the dreaded west right??
Where LA, Chicago, Dallas, Colorado, Ducks, St Louis, Minnesota
are all far, far superior
and teams like
San Jose and Vancouver are probably much better as well...
They may be a little bit better than us but wont sniff the playoffs. |

All three of those teams are going to come back down to earth at least a little bit next season. |

Moulson had 11 goals in 44 games last year for us. So if you project that out its about... yup 21 goals. |

Colorado lost Stastny (a loss for sure) but gained Iginla and a few others
St Louis.... (Gained Stastny) Minnesota gained Vanek... What has Arizona done? Oh yeah they got Sam Gagner.. |

To be fair, the Coyotes were neck and neck with Minny and Dallas for the last 2 spots until Mike Smith got hurt last seaso

I'm not saying Arizona is going to leapfrog them or anything, just that those three won't have as good of a regular season as they did last year.
St. Louis has a big question mark in goal, and Ken Hitchcock is due for a meltdown.
Colorado's young core has yet to face any sort of adversity.
And Minnesota, even at their best does nothing extraordinary. |

I could be wrong on this but I'm pretty confident Deslauries signed a one way deal so he'll be with the big club full time next year. Flynn I think still has a two way so yeah he could be sent down Elis.. I mean... I think Deslauries takes the 4th line spot and doesn't let it go personal opinion.. Also unless they 100% want Moulson playing with Reinhart then Moulson will be on 1st line he's better than Hodgson. |

They can try all they want. They will be worse. Gorges will be our best goalie next year. Enroth and Neuvirth are going to be light up on a nightly basis. - Cheeseballin
Imo:
1) As I said, the effort will be there in spades.
2) Reinhart makes the team, and stays all season and adds a little bit of offensive creativity to the 3rd line. And for those of you worried about "burning a year of his ELC" , who cares? Let Pegula's wallet worry about that.
3) Love em or hate em, Stewart and Stifford are in contract years, and that counts for something.
4) Gorges is a far better defenseman than he's given credit for. Very underrated, and will be a solid influence on Myers.
5) Meszaros is also a very capable player who will be playing for: a) a contract extension with Buffalo or, b) a trade to a playoff-bound team at the deadline.
6) Neuvirth is going to take the crease and he's not going to give it back. He's got a lot to prove, and from what I've heard, he's ready to show Washington they made a mistake.
7) Teams are not going to take the Sabres seriously.
They will be better. I'm hoping not too much better. Remember, that team last year was a historically bad team. To have that happen twice in a row is unlikely, and you're going to see some pride make up for a lack of top-end talent this year.
Hopefully it's only about 8-10 more wins worth of pride. |

I was pointing out the other poster saying Arizona would be a playoff team next year like it was obvious.. when in terms of talent they are far below at least 8 or 9 other teams in the west.. even if those three teams have a drop off should still be able to beat up on the weaker teams in the west. |

As of yet, you are correct. But there is still time. But Az, like Nash before the Pitts trade, need scoring. Too defensive at times
Honestly, I personally think a great trade would be a package including Yandle for E Kane |

I am thinking Deslauries will be the 13th forward and brought in if/when Mitchell gets hurt or they want to sit Cody. I see that 4th line as a revolving door depending on who we play. Mitchell can also play the center spot and a 4th line of Deslauries/Mitchell/Kaleta seems likely for certain games that aren't as much of a "physical" game.
The only reason I put Moulson with Reinhart is to have the veteran presence and lets Hodge/Ennis/Stafford continue to build on their chemistry. I know Ennis and Moulson have great chemistry as well.
It's reall anyone's guess. |

The 2011-2012 Buffalo Sabres season proves that being the offseason champions of the word doesn't make you anywhere near immune from a massive underachievement. |

I agree with most of what you said here.. I'm not willing to give Neuvith the net just yet.. I think Enroth will have something to say about this.. Also I think Reinhart plays on 2nd line. Girgenson's may get more minutes at first but he's better fit for a 3rd line role than Reinhart is.

I think the line of Foligno-Girgensons-Stewart (Ott if Stewart is traded) will be a very angry line to play against. |
