Almost all of these so called rankings, and many people in here, seem to discount or ignore altogether that we have many young players on this team who should be getting better. Voracek, Schenn(S), Couturier, Read, Simmonds, Giroux are ALL still on the upward parts of their careers.

There is no reason to not believe this team can be better this year, simply because these players will be better.

Yea Flyers got hosed..... We only got a better skating, more disciplined and defensive version of Hartnell(Less gritty maybe) with his contract ending 2 years earlier. LOL Not a playoff team? This is the exact same team that finished 3rd in the division. I don't consider them a contender but the East drastically got worse with exception of Tampa. Washington got better on D but lost Halak and is back to Holtby

It's interesting that trading Hartnell for Umberger moves them from a playoff team, to a team that doesn't look like a playoff team.

I wouldnt mind seeing Setoguchi come in on a short term deal with no costs!!
