Higgins has some offensive ability, but is excellent defensively. He also works hard every shift and throws out a lot of hits, not afraid to go into the corners. A good third-liner in my opinion

He does battle fairly hard for pucks and has that reputation, but I want to see some youth in the lineup... I was disappointed earlier when I was looking at his stats, I remember when he had around 10 goals and it was still before the half way point of the season but only finished with 17... and then I ask myself, who didn't have a disappointing second half of the season last year?

Anyway, if you want to keep Higgins over Hansen, that is fine, I just want to see some youth in the lineup...

Some would suggest that a team can replace top players over time while staying competitve. Possibly, but it's really difficult.
The cornerstone of this team is the twins and Burke got them by having the #2 pick and trading to get #3 (I believe). But it's hard to trade for a top 3 now a days. You get a top 3 pick (possibly a franchise player) by having a terrible record. Not picking 15 - 23.

One could argue that with the right drafting having a #10 pick and a #6 some years later, with a series of 20 somethings in between, could be sufficient to restock your top 6 but I won't get into that.

No Richardson? The guy is out best face off man, he needs to be in the line up even if it is only only on the 4th.

I also don't think Vrbata is the right guy for the Sedins, they need someone to go get the puck for them in. I would be okay with Burrows up there still but really hope Kassian get the opportunity. I think the only competition for a roster spot this year for forwards will be Vey and Jensen and it my guess Vey gets a one way deal which more or less seals the deal. Unless of course a trade is made.

If the past few summers are anything to go by, I'm not feeling the love for quality talent at affordable prices on the FA market.

We once had Hodgson and Schroeder pencilled in as our future 1-2 center punch with Rodin riding shotgun as a winger in the top 6. Just saying that it's kinda pointless.

I keep seeing Jensen left off the big club. He's gonna earn a spot.
