Horvat bulks up up to 220 pounds....
Draft Virtanen 45 goals, 100 Pims.....
Draft McCann who admits that he enjoys cross checking people in the face...
Draft Tryamkin 6'7, 230 pound d-man who can skate.....
Trade for Dorsett..... - Nucker101

I agree a bounce-back is in order, but Edler has always been moody prone to disappearing for a game or three from time to time. That won't change.
I'm not sure if new coaching could transform Edler into the PP QB we lost when Ehrhoff left but that would be the biggest I could hope for from Edler this season. - AlexF
Yep, this is why I have never been a fan of his. Even when the Sedins were 90pt guys Edler lacked consistency |

Didn't we sign another collegiate (Zalewski?) - AlexF
Projected as a bottom six energy guy if anything. With all the (frank)ing bottom six depth we have now I don't think even an impressive showing will do much |

I know, the thought of it is absurd. But If Willie can get these guys to play a nice north south game like av did. I think theres a chance we make the seven or 8 spot. No were not contenders. But If we are safely into the playoffs by the trade deadline do you really wanna give up proven third liners in order to throw the young kids in the the playoff fire? Just seems illogical to me. - vancity787
A transition year is hard to predict. I doubt Colorado saw themselves beating a franchise record just one year after picking 1st overall. Obviously not a fair comparison but you are right, just like last year was a perfect storm of bad, we could see everything go right for once and end up in the playoffs |

Grenier might get a look, he had a pretty good season lat year in Utica. 17 g 22 A, he also has good size at 6'5 200lbs.
fox might get a call as well, he is a guy I am really interested to see in the AHL.
Cal orielly was resigned and has played a bit in the NHL. - belcherbd
200lbs at 6'5 isn't great tbh but the numbers he put up look pretty decent |

If you're talking pure defense I think Hamhuis is our best D. Edler is a moody guy, huge highs with ghost-like lows, and I don't see that changing at his age. He is who he is and the inconsistency is a part of his game we'll just have to deal with. - AlexF
Agreed. Hammer doesn't get a lot of love in this league, but he's remarkably consistent. Even on games where he doesn't have much going in the offensive zone, he plays well in his own end. Hamhuis seems to be able to regroup after a bad play quite easily. Very seldom have I seen him have a terrible game like Edler has.

He is, without a doubt, the Canucks best defenseman, IMHO. |

Helen St James and Mark Easson on Twitter mention it every other day, including today - VANTEL
Reading what they had to say about DET's interest in Edler; it sounds a lot like Botchford stating Markstrom asked for a trade.... throwing pure speculation against the wall and hoping it sticks. |

I don't get the hate on Botch for reporting that. He has a quote from Benning about it.
Kesler didn't ask for a trade, neither did Luongo right? |

I don't hate Botchford, I quite enjoy his "Provies". The one criticism I have of him is his smugness and sense of entitlement about his opinion being the one and only. If he continues on the path he's on; he will likely become the next Damian Cox. |

So did Kunitz...
I agree Hammer is the best dmen we have. I just hope he can show more emotion on his face during interviews.
BTW, I ran into Vbrada at Williams Landing in TO over the weekend. The guy is smaller then I thought. Although from speaking to him, he sounded stoked to be playing with the sedins and the big reason why he signed in Van. |

Hamhuis is just fine the way he is, damn good player that I'd take on my team anyday, especially at his cap hit. I remember being nervous about him more so than Ballard( )because the Preds fans made him sound like some turnover machine and an average defender, and I did not look at possession stats at that time either.
But he's a guy you can throw out thee against other team's top lines every night without having to think twice. |

Also forgot to mention...I said to Vbrata that I was campaigning for Nucks to sign him for some time now. And he said "he read some comments on hockey buzz about it" I was almost floored. Did not think that the players would read these rumor sites. Very personable and down to earth person. |

HEY VRBATA IF YOU'RE READING THIS I REALLY THINK YOU'D BE A BETTER FIT ON OUR 2ND LINE WITH BONINO! IT'S NOT A KNOCK AGAINST YOU AT ALL IT'S JUST THAT I THINK STYLE-WISE YOU'D BE A BETTER FIT AWAY FROM THE SEDINS AT LEAST AT EVEN STRENGTH AND BETTER WITH PLAYER WHO CAN GENERATE SOME SCORING CHANCES OFF OF THE RUSH. THANKS MAN. |

If that is actually true then he'd also have read all the negative comments as well, and there were a few.
Hopefully Higgins, Hansen, or Miller haven't been reading this site lately... |

You should pull your puck-bunny outfit out of hiding and do a southern California road trip this upcoming season. Maybe meet up with Ryan for some Pomtinis and see where things go. We are hoping your love connection happens!
Good luck, Ducker. |

I would say so. I am not sure if other players also read rumor sites but I was shocked that he mention HB by name. Pretty sure he read some negative comments as well.
I just hope Gillis also read these then we would not have been where we are now. |
