Not disagreeing, but stranger things have happened. I'd bet a substantial amount of money that Gillis didn't even make a call.

He was probably out trying to land the big marlin. He must have thought that is what we meant when we were hoping MG would land a big fish during the FA period.

Evander Kane on 1040 - "I'm a Winnipeg Jet right now" - his response to do you want to play in Winnipeg. Sekeres called him out and said I did not hear a "yes" in there. Kane did not even say yes then. Clearly this guy wants out. It was clear he wanted to move onto the next topic.

Hard ball questions for Kane to start that interview. No softies down the middle to start the line of questions.

Too bad there's no chance we even make a serious offer for him. Gillis would have.

And Gillis would have made an unmitigated disaster by doing so, somehow.

Edit: Hope you are reading this, Mike Scroat-goat.

The cost would be LARGE, not sure he'd be worth the picks and prospects or the trouble, but, I'd love to see him flying down that LW.

Really is too bad. Winipeg loves the Moose connection. We have Lack, Tanev and Hansen.

Probably more likely that Booth murders MayRay in a "hunting accident" thinking he was Bambi

For our division, Anaheim and LA will be tough to beat. But we may have a shot at SJ. Which means we also play better than Phoenix (and Calgary/Edmonton). That is where there is a possiblity. We are lucky we are not in the Central Division right now with the addititions. But I am not sold on Co being a #1 team. I thought they over performed and Minny is more of a wild card. However Dallas looks a little tougher this year.

You mean the Sharks who had 111 pts last year and took the Kings to 7 games? How do you figure?

Not in terms of players with contracts. CHI blew past the cap that year so only prospects and picks would have been accepted. They could have had a package with Grabner and picks as the centerpiece. Imagine getting Ladd instead of Ballard for all those years. Too many ifs in this hypothetical though.
- AlexF

Why would they have wanted Grabner? The team that traded for him didn't even want him.

Aren't the Sharks in "blow-it-up" mode?

You'd have to think they'd want our 2015 1st, Tanev and a top prospect.

Lack would be involved, no doubt. He could definitely take Pavelec's job.

This is where I was going. Seems like there is some turmoil there. It may show its' head soon. Is there fire where the smoke is with thorton? No idea. They do have solid young guys on the team but they seem to be lost in transition right now. Yes they did go to 7 games, but they have been in this same, "we just cant get to the final step" position for a while. Which is why I think there is a chance to slip by them.

Possible. Goalies have such little trade value though.

This would ruffle a few feathers in the west if this took place. I think Vancouver would be a topic of conversation again....

But we really need to bump a combo of higgins, hansen burrows for the salary alone for any of this to happen, and I dont think 1) they wave and 2) being included in the deal probably doesnt excite the Jets.
