Your 'peace offering' should be a permanent exile.
Just a comment from the boonies, here in Cumberland. - Marwood
Well,I didn't offer to go on an exile, but from your second comment we do agree on something
That's a start at least to some reconciliation between us as Canucks fans, human beings and people from small town B.C. |

I think Kaptaan could use a toke or two, he may not take himself so seriously, then. |

Oh I see, so what about extraterrestrials, huh? are you going to ignore those as well? or how about Toronto fans (who we still aren't sure of what their place is - if any - on the biological chain).
Come on, mannnnnnn.
Edit: Ok ok, just bustin' your codpiece, it's all good (but take Marwood's idea of lighting one up/hot-knifing etc and you'll feel the love |

Dude you're a season ticket holder. We need your insider letters to the fans from the Canucks organization to keep things amusing in here. |

You bug me - because you rarely contribute to a "hockey discussion", its always about something else. Although the guys here may stray from hockey on occassion, it's usually good natured and humorous.
Today is a perfect example of what happens when you come around; I just wish you'd contribute to the hockey side of things instead of always turning it into a serious debate. There are other forums for politics, religion, race, etc etc...
I shouldn't have done that, it won't happen again. - LeftCoaster

Not anymore.
I have to put my money were my mouth is. I've been one for 14 years and when I didn't renew they called (and wrote, and called, and called again) I eventually told them I couldn't give my hard earned money to an organization that continually finds new ways to self destruct.
I told them they will always have my support, just not my money.
So far I'm happy with my decision. |

You're the Tim Robbins character from the movie "High Fidelity"! The balding, pony-tailed, capri wearing, vegan yoga freak.
It all makes sense now.

You pretty much called me a racist for thinking basketball wouldn't succeed the 2nd time around in the lower mainland and then called Carol out for essentially regurgitating the postings of others. That was within just a few posts.
The people that post here are decent people and don't need a crusader standing up for the causes of injustice as you seem to feel you are doing. From what I have seen you've consistently busted everyone's chops for being inconsiderate, bigots, unknowledgeable, or basically whatever other itch you feel like scratching at the time.
I respect the fact that you are looking to "extend the olive branch" if that is in fact your intention, but personally I think you've already gone too far in the minds of most on here.
Keep posting if you feel like it but be prepared to deal with the consequences of the actions you've already made. |

at least you talk about hockey and laugh about the other stuff. - LeftCoaster
Speaking of talking hockey I was hoping to expand on our conversation the other week about canuck UFA signings, dogging it for a better draft position, etc, etc.
I've been thinking about it and looked up some numbers. Our current group of prospects may be considered too unskilled to play in the NHL. I agree about that perception. But many of them are in the 20 to 21 year old range. It's getting to be now or never for many of them.
I still think that's more an owner decision than a good hockey decision to fill positional needs with older UFAs then prospects. But that's another topic.
I remember when many of us complained that AV didn't play his young guys/prospects enough. Always filling those positional holes with experienced, fringe NHL players. It used to drive some of us nuts. I see no change in practice today.
If any organization has learnt that roster players can sometimes come from unexpected places it should be the canucks. They have many full time roster players that were drafted high or undrafted all together. On paper, Burrows should never have seen NHL ice.
If you don't develope your players and give them a fair shot then how the hell do you know what you got? I still can't justify those UFA signing considering 'Change is Coming'. |

I think "Change is Coming" meant they're looking to turn this team back into a playoff team after missing out last year. I agree with your points and therefore find it tough to read some of the recent moves made any other way.
That said, a trade or two could change that outlook considerably. I think at this point I'm firmly in "wait and see" mode until October to watch what unfolds. |

I think this year jobs can be taken away from Highins Burrows and Hansen. Besst player will win the spot. We finished 24 th last year with the core so I think all spots except a few are open for business |

I think at best(or worse depending on how you look at it) you'll see only one of them lose a spot to a younger player. The younger players aren't ready, and the ones that already have AHL experience aren't good enough IMO. Outside of Corrado and Jensen. |
