not below Meh, but not that far above it either.
I wonder if its complete, because i have to think theyre at least pondering potential movements with sutter/paul martin for respective reasons.
but i like the erhoff deal. i think he bolts after this year, but still for this season its a good value at least. i dont think they lost anything FA wise that will be a killer. niskanen going should be replaced by hoff. the neal for hornqvist deal i still have mixed feelings about.
the bottom 6 should be better with the cheapy deals given out, but the top 6 is still placing a hell of a lot of hope on a wish and a prayer. but realistically, what can be done? everyone could use another top 6 winger. - stayinthefnnet

So you're saying that in today's game Foote would be a 3rd pair defenseman? If so I couldn't disagree less. Foote would be a top pairing defenseman in today's game. Just as he was in his prime in his playing days. - MJL

you mean that what teams could use? or what the pens gained?
because yeah, ill definitely take some more cap space haha. by the time the pens sign their rfas, theyill be up against the ceiling.
but even if the cap wasnt an issue for the pens or flyers, right now, the players worth spending it on seem few and far between.
granted, i guess they both could have been better players in giving kulemin 4 and change a year long term, but hey you win some you lose some. |

I wouldn't be embroiled if it wasn't a case of somebody always "inventing straw men" and "engaging in hyperbole" when there are solid arguments against everything that is being said on his end.

I think you guys had a decent offseason. Getting Ehrhoff was huge. He'll help bridge the gap to the young guys. Still don't love your bottom six but goc and Downie will probably help. Losing jokinen and Neal definitely hurts the top 6. Hornqvist simply doesn't bring the things Neal does offensively. I think much of your season will be about which Letang you guys get |

that last part. 100 percent.
realistically though. not to sound haughty, but i think regardless of the glaring issues, the team should make the postseason.
what they do when they get there defines the season. and im not foolish enough to think cup or bust. but, there are different ways to lose. i understand the end results are the same, but bowing out in a hard fought 7 game series to boston is something that as a fan sucks but you can accept. the past few postseasons however... |

Ehrhoff > Niskanen - jmatchett383
yup.
i think ehrhoff puts up 50/60 points this year, and leaves in the offseason on a 5 year deal with a significant raise. from another team of course. |

It is in good fun, and I shouldn't even discuss this stuff on these boards to begin with with some folks. There's nothing to be gained from it and it lessens the fun of talking about the sport |

I wouldn't be so sure. If he has a good season, I could see them moving someone in order to accommodate a salary for him. |
