I think if you could trade Sharp for a player like Bjugstad now, you need to jump all over it.
If its something like Sharp for picks and prospects at 18 or 19 still marinading, I would wait until next year as well - FourFeathers773
Rights to Hayes and Versteeg/Roszival for a 6th-round pick. DONE! Get rid of the other one, too, by unloading him to a team trying to reach the cap floor. DONE! Sign Brookbank for $1M.
If the cap does go up to $76M for 2015-16, then ice a 4th line for $2.3M (Regin types & wingers). Give Saad $3.5M, Kruger $1.6M, let Oduya/Leddy go, keep Brookbank and hope Johns/Dahlbeck (or both) are ready. Do the math and…the Hawks get to keep Sharp. |

If the Hawks do not sign him (Hayes) they get a compensatory 2nd round pick next year (54 overall). |

Remember - even if you only get a low draft pick back - still have to replace him - so you only net about $1.5 in cap savings. |

Right to Hayes. I am assuming a joke there.... Just in case, though, I'll point out that the Hawks will get a second round pick if he doesn't sign here by mid-August. So I suspect those valuable rights will stay with the Hawks for the duration. |

I don't have the energy to give back on the "rights to Hayes" trades. |

My point is audition time for young players shouldn't be in April/May.
Q had the pedal to the floor from Oct and the Hawks never really ever took control of the Division.
He needs to change as JJ said may not have a choice.
Coach like Babcock and Sutter...Use the regular season to work out kinks and to give kids time to learn...Not when the stakes and pressure is the highest. - Al
Yeah I'm beginning to think regular season is very overrated. Especially in the west were you have 6-7 very even teams.

>Yep, to that -- the point of the regular season -- if you are a solid team -- is to get ready for the playoffs
>Thought Q really missed the mark with Morin this year -- in limited action he had the highest Corsi rating of all Hawk players -- ice tilted toward the other team when he was on
>Interesting comments by Stan Bowman at MIT's Hockey Analytics Conference: "The Blackhawks have their own analytics system -- we won't get into what it is specifically comprised of -- but one of the things it does for us is to help eliminate bias." (I believe that to mean coaching bias.)
>Find it interesting that Q's buddy lasted 1 year as goalie coach and another buddy is leaving, too
>The margin between winning and losing is very thin in the Western Conference
>And a head coach today needs the best support he can get to win
>Think Q has total control of the "lineup card", practices, and game plans but the "Goodship Blackhawk" is now giving him lots of input |

Kings proved this in 2012.
Duck fans still don't understand that the division means nothing they rave and throw massive parties for a division title. |

And this year two teams that finished third in their divisions met in the WCF. No need to talk about what happened there....... |

Yeah I'm done having melt downs to bad losses in November.
All I care in about is last 25 games and health of roster.
Central is going to be a meat grinder. 2 rounds of hell. Pacific is you and Anaheim. All you want to do is avoid a wild card central team in round 1. |

To be fair, I think it means more to teams that haven't proven a ton yet in the playoffs. The Kings and the Hawks know what they can do and it is certainly less important to them. |

Agree. I think we will see wayyyy more maintenance days for guys like Hossa this year. I think he played in 70 games last year. Between he and Richards, I bet they get quite a few games off |
