What would it realistically take to get Kane from the Jets?
Markstrom, Jensen + Hansen. |

thanks bro, any tips recommendations going? where to stay or anything or just wing it? Plan on winging it and seeing what happens. Not much of a planner. - anavar
I suppose it depends on how much you have to spend. The town itself is pretty nondescript and the main area is pretty much 5 blocks x 5 blocks. It's about a 7-10 minute drive from the base of the mountain and there's a pretty large parking lot at the base of the mountain and it's free, so no dramas there. The later you get there, the longer you'll have to walk but who really cares it's not that far.
If you're into comfort, the Sutton Place hotel at the base of the hill looks nice. I stayed at the Coast Hotel, which isn't in town but about the same distance to the hill. There are a few options directly in town which you should be able to find without too much fuss.
If you're into backcountry cat-skiing type stuff let me know and I can PM you some options. |

It's viennese Schnitzel!!!!!!
Germans have no clue about Schnitzel. They can't get the breadcrumb coating right and then they put random sauce on it
- AustrianCanuck
I am so upset I missed the conversation about Schnitzel It is my comfort food. I think the Austrians taught Hungarians how to make it while they were busy being imperialist bastards either that or my dad learned from my German grandpa, not too sure where he learned it |

That seems like one of the few circumstances where one would be disappointed to be eating cashews |

Tessier was all over The Schenns and Matt Read for E.Kane + 2nd rounder.
Gotta think they would be all over this offer plus Higgins. Still not the biggest fan of Kane. I would rather use those assets to land Myers. |

I mean, really, when have you ever heard a coach say "I don't think we'll make the playoffs, this year is pretty much a write-off due to the other teams being so good. But we'll try hard"?
Those guys are gonna go out there and try to win every game, regardless of the odds, because that's what athletes do. - LeftCoaster

Jurgen Klinsmann was being truthful when he went on record and said the US soccer team didn't have a chance to win the world cup. Sometimes team management has to manage fan expectations.
Kind of refreshing isn't it? |

I want us to win. I'd be surprised if anyone here really wanted otherwise. I posted that comment from WD because I simply don't think winning the Cup is achievable for this team. Like, not even for a little bit. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong. - AlexF
And the franchise wonders why fans go crazy when the canucks lose.
They need to do a better job at curbing our enthusiasm as fans or we are in jeopardy of becoming leaf nation. |

An NHL coach doesn't have to say anything about winning a Stanley Cup before the season ever starts. Going on the record that your goal is to compete in every game, make the playoffs and go from there.
To say that you don't have a chance to win a tournament that you are entered in is silly to me. Why bother to compete in the tournament if you don't have a chance. To gain experience? Several of the South American teams showed the world that you always have a chance with very near upsets. In the end the early favourites are there, but it was certainly not an easy route. |

I think it's a bit different there because just getting to the world cup is an achievement. Furthermore, the team is from a country that is not known for its soccer program, and doesn't have a particularly dedicated fan base. An NHL team in Canada would not be okay with that answer unless management had come out and said they were rebuilding the franchise (AKA trading the Sedins) |

touchy touchy! I was visiting a friend in Sweissville and we had a very nice meal of wienerschnitzel and of course a variety of fabulous and enchanting beer selections which I thought was all splendid. Basically a 4+ star meal.
However, once we got to Austria (Meyerhoven) - (our home base was Zurich) where we were going to ski for a week, I was generally blown away by my stay there and several things come to mind in particular. First of all, everyone MUST try Weissbiere(White Beer). This was pretty much the first thing I did when we crossed the border ha - it's crisp, refreshing and light but nonetheless has a distinct and unique flavour).
And of course, if you are visiting either country, everyone must also try the schnitzel, and to top it all off, either a cheese or chocolate fondue (where is #@$@# Fosco???). Absolutely fantastic. Makes me drool just thinking about it (as well as the fresh-faced chesty Frauliens who were serving it )
The food portions and prices and just general disposition of the Austrian people was wonderful, and we had a great time (not to mention Austria is significantly cheaper than Sweiss. Both great countries to visit whether for a ski holiday or just for historical/holiday aspects. . Probably one of the best holidays I've ever had (other than visiting Tijuana and East LA ) in that I actually go to ski the Alps
Ok, I'm definitely on a @#$# roll tonight so please bear with me I'm thinkin' I've used up all my allotted posting limit for 2014
P.S. luckily you didn't get me started on the apres-ski hi-jinks which usually consisted of delicious Glühwein (hot wine - sometimes with cinnamon, depending on the proprietor's preference. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm......)
Edit: @#$@#$ me, Vintage was right - Zogg
Spent time in Geneva, and up in the Alps a few years ago. The Cheese and chocolate are amazing, but the cheese is top dog. Fondue and raclette are soo good.
Went to the town of Gruyere, where the cheese is from...Doesn't get much more Swiss than that. |
