I think a couple people have mentioned that Bruins documentary as having shown him ruthlessly argue in favour of dumping him - bezz44

He was in favor of trading him - yes. Bad decision on their part. Ultimately it was up to Peter Chiarelli to make the final call, but Jim was onboard with it or perhaps even the catalyst of it? |

Sounds like Vey has signed but haven't seen it posted anywhere else though.
@News1130Sports: Vey will make 735,000 dollars next season in Vancouver. |

We can't really know if he would have had the same success in Boston though so it's hard to judge him for that trade, despite the fact that the Stars seem to have gotten the best piece |

We drove through Austria (twice) and Switzerland last September when we went to Italy (through Germany). Incredible countryside, somewhere I would definitely visit again. - 1970vintage
It's on our bucket list to get back to that part of the world. . |

Wasn't Tyler a bit of a drama queen in Boston too. I thought I remember him being a whiner, and a bit of problem child there. If that was the case, it was probably the fresh start in Dallas that turned him around.
Plus getting Reilly Smith in the deal seems to be panning out, thank god for that, as Erixson hasn't lived up to expectations. |

Not really. Maybe the opportunity of playing with Jamie Benn in a new environment where he could be the go to guy is what triggered his growth. I feel like he was suffocating in Boston. That being said, I think Benning should have kept him and traded someone else if it wasn't working out |

Yea I got that sense as well. I think the opportunity is probably what made him get his poop together. And yea, I don't think anyone last summer anticipated that he would end up being the best asset going to Boston in that trade |

I suppose it depends on how much you have to spend. The town itself is pretty nondescript and the main area is pretty much 5 blocks x 5 blocks. It's about a 7-10 minute drive from the base of the mountain and there's a pretty large parking lot at the base of the mountain and it's free, so no dramas there. The later you get there, the longer you'll have to walk but who really cares it's not that far.
If you're into comfort, the Sutton Place hotel at the base of the hill looks nice. I stayed at the Coast Hotel, which isn't in town but about the same distance to the hill. There are a few options directly in town which you should be able to find without too much fuss.
If you're into backcountry cat-skiing type stuff let me know and I can PM you some options. - AlexF
appreciate it alex, please pm with some info on backcountry. We will probs price everything out and then decide on how this trip will go down. |

Knowing Benning's (apparent) stance on Evander Kane (negative interest), I wonder what kind of input he had in the (awful) decision to ship Seguin out of Boston. - DrChristianTroy
I hate to judge someone on appearances but from his commentary and facial expressions, Benning does strike me as not the brightest light in the west and stubborn to boot. One of those "I know a thing or two about a thing or two" types. I wouldn't be surprised if he does actually eat meat & potatoes on a regular basis. |

I think you're way off here; just because he (Benning) may not articulate things like a brilliant professor, doesn't mean, in any way shape or form, he's not an intelligent hockey man. |

After Toews and Kane signings, the Blackhawks will have $65.8 committed on their cap to 15 players for 2015-16. Wow.
They just (frank)ed the upper market. |

I knew my comment would come across like that and it's not entirely what I meant to say, but he gives me that feeling in my gut. I'm not anti Benning or anything, but just a comment on my initial perceptions. |
