Chicago is going to have to deal with what Pitt is dealing with right now in a few years. - FlyersSteve118
Just glancing at capgeek...gotta think Bickell, at a 4 mil cap hit, is going to be on the block in the nearish future.
Saad is an RFA after this coming season, so Kane and Toews' contracts will kick in on the books while he needs to be signed/QO'd, etc
Johnny Oduya is unrestricted after this season...bet he doesn't get re-upped, to make room for Leddy, who is going to get a nice raise in next offseason.
Maybe one of Sharp, Seabrook, Keith, or Hjalmarsson gets moved too?

If they have already decided that Laughton is to start in Allentown, then you are likely correct.
I don't even know who is available in that market right now (i.e.--does PK, 4th liner, good at FOs, uptempo player)...... - johndewar
Raffl does all that. |

I think they'll keep Keith, but I can see the others being moved |

oh no they won't! the cap just keeps going up, and in a few years, those deals will be steals!!!! - hammarby31
I think that is sarcasm... but Crosby and Malkin signed those deals when the cap was like 12mil lower than what it is now and still feeling the pain from it. |

Where did he diss his team? - J35Bacher
Several places, small things that add up. Endorsing comments about trades, using poor choices of words in Interviews. There are quite a few of examples of poor judgement in expressing himself to the media that have really been disrespectful to the Jets organization. |

Yeah, his shots have been aimed at the media. Haven't seen him say a thing about the team. Maybe the front office, but definitely not the team. - hereticpride
The front office is part of the team. |

Seabrook, Sharp and Crawford are probably all on the outs soon. Bickell is their albatross. |

I can't see them letting Keith or Seabrook go anywhere.
They'll try to keep Hjalmarsson.
Bicjell and Sharp could be traded.
Hossa is really tricky because of the retirement cap penalties with his back diving deal. |

That's differnt then taking a shot at your team. But you also have to look at all the stuff that gets put on him. I don't think the organization has done him any favors. The media hounds this guy becaue of his twitter and any comment he makes.

Was he good at face offs?
I can't remember but think he was average to below average.
I see him more as a winger even though he spent time as a C last year. |

That's what I'm talking about -- it's not that they won't have a team. It's that the team will have more Tanner Glass and less Bickell, more Deryk Engelland and less Johnny Oduya.
Remains to be seen if you can win the Cup like that, but I do have my doubts |

crawford should be. not sure what kind of depth they have behind raanta, but he looks capable.
sharp's been in rumors this offseason, so that's a sign.

I don't know if I would agree with that. They are the front office. The team are the guys in the locker room. I have been in those locker rooms. Not all these guys like there FO. |

I don't think they'll move him this summer... maybe next. They'll get quite a haul for him, he's not nearly as critical as Keith is, and they've got Clendening coming up, who looks terrific. |

This is really off-topic, but how good is Connor McDavid?
I know he was the 3rd player to get exceptional status from the OHL (Tavares are Ekblad the other 2), but the OHL is the only CHL league that has the exceptional status, and it's only been around for less than 10 years, so I don't know how much weight it carries.
Also, aside from the WJC (where he didn't impress me a bit), I haven't really seen him play. I know Crosby had the quote about how McDavid was better than he was at 16, but Crosby's also very diplomatic about stuff like that. Does anyone know more about him that what the analysts say, or has anyone seem him regularly enough to say that he'll be a Crosby-type (minus any negatively-perceived antics)? - jmatchett383
Grew up in Erie, PA...my family goes to all the games there. I think he will realistically fall somewhere between Crosby and Kane. |
