That's interesting. I think some on here might say Voracek, in which both cases I'd disagree. Girouxcould very well be a top three forward in the league. I'm so sure Mason or Voracek would be top 10 within their perspective positions. - SuperSchennBros
Your refrain is "We can't win a Cup without another impact player, such as Giroux".
You've talked about bringing in a high octane winger, specifically.
You've talked about 1-2 punches the Flyers oh so desperately need.
"We need another impact player- one who has the "it factor" like Giroux."
Mason was unbelievable last year. He's the type of goalie that, in a perfect world, would be in consideration for the Vezina, because he was just as valuable to this team as Giroux.
The offense is driven by the success and play of G. The team is driven by the success and play from Mason.
He's an impact player. So there's your impact player you're looking for. That's the guy that's going to lead us to the Cup soon. He would have this year too, had he not gotten cheapshotted. |

STOP IT JUST STOP IT OKAY YOU ONLY GET AN IMPACT PLAYER IN THE TOP 10 - Giroux_Is_God
Oh, my bad. I totally forgot that Giroux, Shea Weber, Henrik Lundqvist, Martin St. Louis, PK Subban, Ryan Getzlaf, Jamie Benn, Erik Karlsson, Anze Kopitar, Jonathan Quick, Pekka Rinne, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Brent Seabrook, Zach Parise, Corey Perry, Patric Bergeron, Pavel Datsyuk, Henrike Zetterberg, and the great Shayne Gostisbehere were all drafted outside of the top-10 |

Giroux is 26. How old will Giroux be once this player in question is drafted and reaches his prime? - SuperSchennBros
Older than 26. Do you understand the concept of time? |

I could make a list of impact players the Hawks have drafted to help win both their Cup in 2010 and 2013 if you'd like. - SuperSchennBros
What does that have to do with anything? Only the core really matters when it comes to drafting. |

Yeah, the Hawks drafted core superstar players like Hossa and Sharp, and fantastic role players like Handzus and Oduya. |

Well since the world isn't perfect, would you say Steve Mason was a top 10 goalie in league last year? |

Yeah, draft the core. Supplement with FA/trades. Go to model for winning the Cup right now. |

We don't have one. We're trying to build one, which is what Hexy's plan is.
You are SO MUCH FUN to debate with. |

What do you mean? Ray Emery faced pretty tough competition in his own right. In fact Emery faced the defending champions at the time both times we faced them and beat them once. |

Wow, he had a few good games. Nominate him for the Vezina now! Michael Leighton once had a shutout, why didn't he win the Hart?
The only reason the Flyers didn't start the season 0-15 is that Mason was playing out of his mind. And since we all know we have the worst defense ever, his stats are actually pretty damn amazing. |
